When Australian students in the state of Victoria sat down to take their level 12 history exam, they learned a shocking lesson: apparently, the revolutionaries in Russia were able to defeat the Czar thanks to at least one giant fighting robot.
The test, which covered the Russian revolution, was supposed to include an image of the painting Storming the Winter palace on 25th October 1917 by Nikolai Kochergin. However, the test preparers inadvertently included the photoshopped image above, which includes a Marauder Battlemech from the wargame franchise BattleTech. Suffice to say, the original painting does not include a giant robot.
A spokesman for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority told Australian newspaper The Age that “The image has been altered but the alteration of the image won’t impact on the students’ capacity to answer the examination question. The VCAA will monitor students’ answers to ensure that any student who has been distracted by the image will not be disadvantaged.”
There’s an important lesson here, though – you can’t just pull historic images off the web and assume that they’re legit.

Someone’s been a little too into ‘Mech video games.
Sort of a bit misleading to refer to mechs as ‘robots’ since they usually have a human pilot and it’ll make people think they’re autonomous if the author doesn’t explain.

The RUSSIAN word for work is “robotayet”. A robot is a worker. That’s where the word originated.
There were indeed tens of thousands of “robots” there to throw out the ruling class and execute as many as were available for such.
Obama is a czar and the demoncrats are a perpetual ruling class.

I was just watching a show on “The History Channel” and was amazed to learn that “Stalin saved the free world”.
Yep that is exactly what they said. It was actually a story about underground structures and caves. They were talking about the battle of Sevastopol. The Russians apparently defeated the Nazis for the free world.
Talk about how we have been brain washed by the media, they don’t even try to be realistic any more.

Robots from the future?
There were those robots that moo’d like cows in MGS4 - Guns of the Patriots.
I teach this subject in the state in question, and my students were among those doing the exam. I’ve told them that if they did any studying at all, they should be well aware that there were no giant battle robots involved in the Russian Revolution - and if there had been, they would have been on the Tsar’s side!
