Savita Halappanavar, who was 17 weeks pregnant, died on 28 October after suffering a miscarriage and septicaemia.

Her husband, Praveen Halappanavar, 34, says she had complained of being in agonising pain while in Galway University Hospital.

But doctors said they could not terminate the pregnancy while there was still a foetal heartbeat and that Ireland is a "Catholic country".

"The husband of a pregnant woman who died in Ireland after being refused an abortion tells Channel 4 News he "strongly believes" that she would be alive had doctors terminated the pregnancy."

That creates this story. "He believes".

Impeach the kenyan or secession.

“Malta”

Is that serious or sarcastic?

I ask because I LOVE the weather there, but really don't know much about the country during the last 30 years. I had assumed that being that close to Europe the had picked up all of the same bad/silly habits. It would be great to find out they are still sane.

“There was a Congressman who was a practicing OB/GYN. On the floor of the House he stated in 20 yrs of practice he had never seen a case where the only option was to abort the baby.”

Then this is the dumbest thing that has ever been said by a doctor.

What about an ectopic pregnancy? What about first trimester preeclampsia??

Like in parts of India they leave their dead out for vultures to recycle their flesh.

Note that it's not leave their dead out -- the dead of the Zoroastrian religion specifically are put in towers with the vultures

The reason for this is that the Zoroastrians believe that the dead bodies pollute land or sea and that fire is holy, so they cannot be consigned to flames. So, the vultures eating is the purest form according to them

It's only Zoroastrians who are descendents of Iranis who escaped from Islam, no other community in India does that.

Economically it’s typical of Europe—a mess. Socially—extremely conservative. Remember a few years back when there were “abortion ships” cruising around pro-life locales, so women could go offshore to murder their progeny? (Nice vacation package, right?) Maltese officials stated in no uncertain terms that any such ship entering its waters would be considered, essentially, a hostile enemy and would be treated with impunity.
