By the midterm elections in 2014, Julián Castro's memoir will be on bookshelves nationwide.
New York-based Little, Brown and Co. will announce today that it has acquired the rights to publish Castro's yet-to-be-written book in English and Spanish as well as an audio version. The memoir will be published in 2014, the publishing house says.
Since delivering the keynote address on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention, Castro has become a national figure, and widely discussed as a future president.
“We think Julián has a very universal story, filled with drama, struggle and achievement and it will appeal to a wide range of readers across the country,” Little, Brown spokeswoman Nicole Dewey said in an email. “We have plans for a major national marketing and publicity campaign.”

Joaquin, a Texas legislator, was elected this month to a seat in Congress. As for Julian, he says he intends to run for reelection as mayor. But some Democrats see him as a future star of the party — a future candidate for governor and, possibly, president some day.
Castro’s speech to the national convention inevitably attracted comparisons with Barack Obama, whose national profile was launched with a speech to the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Obama wrote an autobiography, Dreams From My Father, when he was 33. Thirteen years later, he was president.
As for Julian Castro, political junkies in Texas are looking forward to the prospects that he could run for governor in 2018 or 2022. The dream matchup would be Castro against George P. Bush, son of former Gov. Jeb Bush and nephew of President George W. Bush. (George P has filed papers in Austin in preparation to run for office, probably state land commissioner in two years) Whatever happens, it looks like Bush and Castro are in Texas’ political future. How about this: an all-Texas showdown between the two as the Republican and Democratic nominees for president 2024?”

Here we go again. Another minority politician emerging out of nowhere, with scant life or political experience, “pens” an autobiography as a prelude to a run for President.
Anyone who dares oppose him will be considered a racist/bigot/whatever.
Once the Dems hit on a formula, they tend to stick with it.
His twin brother has already announced that he[not mayor] will run against Ted Cruz in 2018.
His mother Rosie ran in the “right” circles so her sons would have the right Marxist exposure and Ivy League credentials.
This guy is going to be the next multicultural firebrand to unify all the special interests.
First, we will probably get Corey booker from NJ, who politics aside seems like a pretty decent guy.

Castro will work with Little, Brown editor Geoff Shandler, who will help the mayor “with direction and revision, through conversation, suggestion and pencil work,” he said in an email. “My job is to read closely, offer constructive commentary.”
Shandler said his editing at times would be broad, focusing on structure, and at times would be concentrated on detail such as the best wording for a particular sentence.
“I plan to work with Mayor Castro directly throughout his crafting of the text — to my great fortune, since I will be among the first to read what promises to be a remarkable book.”
I’m telling yuh this guy is running in 2020...
OK notice the pattern. This is the way RAT politicians get huge money exchanges (such as from unions). Books sale were never so so good.

Easily the most depressing news I’ve heard since the cataclysm 9 days ago. You can count on the MSM to double and triple down on an extended Obama-esque orgy of reportage about this latest Obama clone. I just KNEW his appearance at the Dem convention was a trial balloon, but I hoped it would prove to be a lead one , because I assumed Obama would be defeated on Nov. 6. If this guy’s star starts rising it will be merely because the MSM wants it to be so: his policies will prove to be Obama’s in microcosm,and technically there will be NO way ANY of Zero’s policies will be successful over the next four years.Which is why OBAMA SHOULD NEVER
HAVE BEEN ELECTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Just look what it ushered in: a SECOND TERM for Obama, AND a dynamic where a guy like this can now legitimately looked at as a “feasible”
prospect for even higher office. They are REALLY counting on the Hispanic vote being decisive again-—meanwhile, the de-balled Establishment GOP keeps fretting about Hispanic “outreach”. The ongoing career of Mr. Castro will provide
a good barometer of just what a lost cause Hispanic outreach is for anyone but the Dems.
