LILCO was sued out of existence by environazis, who used Federal environmental law to prevent the Shoreham nuclear power station, completed and ready to go on line, from opening.

LILCO had invested enormous amounts of capital in Shoreham, which was turned by leftists into a total loss from which LILCO could not recover.

This was an important event that played a major role in replacing the competent Republicans who ran Nassau and Suffolk counties with the Democrats who run them today.

The Democrats stellar ability at governing and running public utilities is on display there today, and the moron voters STILL do not understand.
