Fort Pierce mayor's candidate files injunction against St. Lucie elections supervisor

FORT PIERCE — A Fort Pierce mayoral candidate filed a request for an injunction Tuesday against the St. Lucie County elections supervisor and Canvassing Board, asking the circuit court to postpone Wednesday's recount, impound voting machines and review the election results.

Vince Gaskin asked the court to independently review "the difference in voting totals evidenced by voting machine ticker tape" before a recount of the mayor's race, scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Gaskin's lawsuit, assigned to St. Lucie County Circuit Judge Dan Vaughn seeks "immediate mandatory injunctive relief" to "address the difference in vote counting machine totals and the final total of votes of ... Nov. 1, Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 early voting ballots."

"At this point, according to what we've been told by (St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections) Gertrude (Walker,) once her and the Canvassing Board have certified the results, that's pretty much it," Gaskin said Tuesday. "That's why we're rushing to try and get this injunction filed before this recount happened because we don't want these results to get certified without these questions being answered."

Gaskin's lawsuit also requested the vote-counting machines' ticker tapes be impounded for review, claiming he has evidence of a "discrepancy between the actual machine count and the computer card used for tabulation of a final vote count."

As of Tuesday, election results showed Gaskin ahead of opponent Linda Hudson by five votes after Election Day, and then ahead by 21 votes after provisional ballots were counted Thursday and Friday.

Hudson then took the lead by 61 votes after early votes from Nov. 1-3 were recounted Sunday.

"We are aggressively questioning that because we have the proof from what they gave us on Sunday. And that's why we are so adamant about trying to get answers about this," Gaskin said. "We don't see where there is a problem with the machines. Whatever happened after we looked at those numbers and they took the cards and wherever they went, after that point, that's where the problem occurred.

"It must be the (memory) cards," he added. "But there was a problem with the Sunday count, and she (Walker) is saying the Sunday count was fine, and we disagree with that."

Gaskin said he plans to contact Vaughn early Wednesday seeking an immediate a court order to stop the counting.

If Wednesday's recount proceeds, Gaskin said he "can't trust" the outcome.

St. Lucie County is about as crooked as you can get.
Just ask any business person here. EVERY gubmint goober has their hand out looking for some kind of payoff.

Wow — How many down in Florida know this about her.

She’s probably also figured out a way to collect foodstamps on top of all of that as well.

That Gertrude Walker sure is a piece of work.

A “Triple Dipper”, she’s gotten quite well off at your expense.

Another one... I will try to copy election fraud articles onto your thread with links to the FR article and the original article.

But if you and/or manc or others do it too, that would be good. My time is ultra limited today and from now on!

I’m also adding “election fraud” as a keyword, that’s good to do (is search working yet?).
