House members call for Benghazi answers, Petraeus testimony

Members of the House on Tuesday reiterated their call for the Obama administration to answer their questions about the September attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead, and pressed for former CIA Director David Petraeus to testify on the matter.

"Congress still doesn't know why our people in Libya were left vulnerable," Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) said on the House floor. "We still don't know why the U.S. military was not sent to their defense.

"It is of the highest importance that General Petraeus, who led the CIA at the time, be brought before Congress to testify as to what really happened in Benghazi, whether there was a security lapse or whether the administration temporized on security and stood down to mollify violent, disparate groups which have nothing in common with our nation," he said.

The irony is the GOP elite of the day did not like Nixon. He was not refined and not of the right breeding. One of Nixon's great faults was that after he was elected he listened to the economic “experts” of the day, who (more irony) were Keynesians.

Sorry, I am not completely correct in saying he enhanced the ‘Great Society’, upon further checking I see where he did a lot to dismantle the giveaways LBJ started BUT he was probably the ‘father of Affirmative Action’ and he had other ‘problems’....
Ford, with his VN amnesty and Nixon pardon probably did more to hurt ‘us’ than anyone and we were probably ‘lucky’ that Carter came along and completely botched things up.
The birth of RINO’s probably can be attributed to the “Reagan Democrat” happening in the 80’s, then the onslaught started with a run of absolutley ‘poor’ Presidents...
Bush, Clinton (2), Bush (2), Obama (2) and I think ‘they’ will really have to outdo themselves to top this bunch..also have to throw the losers into this mix...... Dole, Gore, Kerry, McCain and Romney.
IF ‘THEY’ are out there, out spectacular Parties will find them....
Pitiful....

While the House is at it, they should also call AFRICORP Gen Hamm so we could learn what he was ordered to do in response or was not.

The House should ask General Hamm at least these four questions:

1. Who (by name) ordered the rescue mission?

2. Who (by name) ordered him to stand-down?

3. Why did he disregard the stand-down order?

4. Who (by name) told his deputy to relieve him of command?

I think the answers may be:

(1) Panetta

(2) Jarrett [because she couldn't reach Obama in time to tell him to do it]

(3) General Hamm didn't believe he had to take orders from Jarrett

(4) Jarrett.

What is going on with the FR search function? It doesn’t work for me either.

Is it just me? Without a search function, FR is not all that valuable.

Wish I knew what was going on.
