Comcast Corp's NBCUniversal entertainment unit is laying off about 500 employees at cable channels, Jay Leno's late-night TV show and the Universal Pictures movie studio, a person with knowledge of the matter said on Monday.
The cuts add up to about 1.5 percent of the company's workforce of 30,000 employees, the source said.
A large portion of the layoffs occurred at the G4 cable channel, a network about video games and the gaming culture, the source said. Two of the network's shows were recently canceled.
Other layoffs occurred about two months ago at "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," which cut about two dozen crew members.

They could save plenty with cuts at MSNBC as the preacher doesn’t need such a big choir anymore but this has never been about ratings from that network.
When they all just report their master’s propaganda talking points, there isn’t a need for a lot of them.
I have said this for a long time. The ultimate consequence of the leftist media push for communism is that there will only be one small “news” room that is told what to say by the David Axlerod’s of the regime in command.
Leno was more effective than MSNBC. Liberal propaganda is embedded in every TV show, not just the news.
Is this just a leftist company cleaning out all the conservative employees?

They have 30,000 workers? Holy cow. Never would have thought that. 500 is a very small amount in the big picture. Like they say 1.5 percent.
Oh noes, Sarah Underwood, Candace Bailey, and Morgan Webb have been obamasized! What will they do now?
No more NBC News for me (plus ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, New York Times, etc.). If they want a socialist president they can do so without my help.

He just joined this year - since he obviously doesn’t seem to enjoy the site, can’t help wondering why he is here. (MSNBC employee, perhaps?) Also, is swearing really necessary - haven’t seen much of that on this site and yet our new member falls back on a lib tactic. Just saying , . . .
