Obviously, Romney was not the super-manager that he claimed to be. However, he was doomed from the start, anyway. The GOP cannot win with a liberal. [posted by GlockThe Vote]

Now, that’s what I was trying to say way back when we could have made a difference.

The trouble then was none of the GOP primary contenders would probably have been much better. Perry was about the only 'solid' one, until his memory loss. The others -- Santorum lost his Senate seat, Gingrich lost his House Speakership, Cain didn't have any political experience, Bachmann -- Chris Wallace turned out to be sort of correct -- she was a bit flakey.

That cast wouldn't even have made a good Shakespearian play.
