Gingrich: GOP needs to be "inclusive"

In the aftermath of Mitt Romney's presidential loss last week, Newt Gingrich is joining the cadre of Republicans calling for the Republican Party to more actively reach out to a more diverse electorate, arguing on Monday that the party needs to become more "inclusive."

"I think we need to be inclusive, and I emphasize the difference between inclusive and outreach," Gingrich said Monday morning in an appearance on ABC's "The View." "Outreach is when five white guys have a meeting and call you. Inclusive is when you're in the meeting. And I think we have to understand to be inclusive."

Gingrich, who was joined by his wife Callista on the show, argued that Republicans had "misunderstood the American people" in 2012, and that the GOP can't just wait until 2016 to try to broaden its reach.

"The Republican doctrine of highly paid consultants spending hundreds of millions of dollars on 30-second ads doesn't build a party," he said. "The Republican Party better not wait until 2016. The Republican Party better rethink in 2013 how we're going to deal with the country's issues and do it in a way that the average American looks up and says, you know, those are folks I'm willing to trust with my future. We lost that."

He added that "there were a whole series of fundamental things that were really wrong" with how the GOP framed the 2012 election, including the fact that the Obama campaign so successfully appealed to non-white voters.

During the primaries, I told everyone that Gingrich quit being a conservative in 1995.

Only a few believed me.

Maybe more will believe it now.

If the GOP doesn’t fight for us, why the Hell should we fight for them?

If we have to become a pathetic echo of the Democrats and their politics of pandering to people who vote as tribes rather than citizens to win elections, then I’m not interested. Let the Democrats win all future elections. And when they’re done turning the country into Bangledesh, maybe the minds of the voters will return to a rational place again wherein they’ll realize liberalism will never succeed. Maybe it’s going to take a decade of the country descending into liberal-begotten hell to return to sanity again. Call it political chemo therapy: The patient’s body has to be poisoned and made terribly ill to cure the disease.

What’s he saying that you object to? Do you want to write off the Hispanics, blacks, and women forever? If that’s the case, then we can just fold our tents and go home because we will never win another election.

This does not mean compromising or changing our principles. It means explaining them instead of ignoring these groups. It means doing what Paul Ryan wanted to do: going into these communities and telling people there why conservatism is good for them.

You may not get many votes from the blacks at first, but as people get more prosperous they start voting more conservative. I do know black professionals who have become much more conservative and voted a straight Republican ticket.

>>”Outreach is when five white guys have a meeting and call you. Inclusive is when you’re in the meeting. And I think we have to understand to be inclusive.”

And stupid is when you include a person who knows nothing, demands free stuff, and you listen to him as if he has a stake in the game.

The Dems have the blacks and abortion-voters on their plantation. They are moving the hispanics to their plantation. Building a duplicate GOP plantation next door isn’t going to accomplish anything. What do we have to give away that can lure them over to our cotton fields?

If the GOP has to become the Democrats to win, then I’d prefer the Dems were in charge so we can keep the GOP in reserve for the inevitable day when the entitlement culture crashes the machine.

The GOP excluded conservatives and they still haven’t learned. Open your eyes - voter fraud. Stop being fearful wusses - say it!

Fabulous. More pearls of wisdom brought forth while sitting amongst some of the biggest foul mouthed, ignorant shrews the entertainment business has ever known. I suppose it could be worse. I could have to sit through his and Callista’s convention speech again.

Screw the implication we’re in the wrong simply because we’re white and male.

We lead in the way we know is right and best for the Country. Don’t like it? Then GFY.

The reason we lost the election has nothing to do with what Romney did or didn’t do, what he did or didn’t stand for. We lost for one reason: The US news media covering up for Obama’s many failures, from covering up the true state of the US economy, to covering up national security leaks by his administration in the spring, covering up Fast & Furious and having little to say about the absurd executive privilege claim, the cover up of Benghazi, allowing Obama to get away with falsifying unemployment and jobs data, etc. etc any one of which would have been used against a Republican incumbent to sink his re-election chances. Romney could have run as the most conservative guy on earth, and the media would have only used that as an excuse to torpedo him all the more and to shill for Obama all the more intensively.

Why should he shut up? He’s right.

This is the single reason proving why republicans belong to the STUPID Party!

I’m with you. Take a poll of the Free Republic ideological mindset and you might have a representative sample of about a quarter of the electorate. We want to elect a president based only on that and brand everyone else as RINOS, socialists, Marxists or idiots? Good luck with that.
