Yesterday Twitchy reported that the unhinged Left was targeting Applebee’s because one monstrous franchisee may implement a hiring freeze to deal with the financial realities of Obamacare. Today, the target is Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter.

Employers only provided health insurance as a way to work around wage freezes that were in place during WWII.

What happens when pharmaceutical companies cut hours. Will they refuse to take their meds?

Most liberals are already off their meds -- or should be put on new ones.

What we are seeing here, is what happens whenever Socialists get absolute power.

The private sector tries to survive by doing everything it can to avoid the damage.

Then the Socialists react by taking over private business. Oh they may not do that here, but what they will do is legislate what businesses must do.

In short order there is no private business. The private sector removes it’s funds. The government steps in. You wind up with no private sector, and a total communist police state.

“We will find you, and cleanse you!”

If you want to be successful in the U. S., I recommend learning to goose step higher than those you’ll be competing against, and develop a way to turn on your fellow citizens in a manner they can’t see.

Welcome to Eastern Europe, 1970.

We can call it the Wheat Curtain, something else we won’t have in short order.

This turns around in short order, or all bets are off.

Indeed. A man doesn’t have to be too deep a thinker to see that a boycott is not likely to help employees of the business targeted.

Deep thinker, as in someone who was willing to vote in Obama again?

I’m just shocked they didn’t devise a plan to shut the business down on day one, to help the workers.

Picketing outside preventing customers from entering. Cutting phone lines. Turning the power off. These could have gotten quicker results. The employees would have been helped in hours, not weeks. /s

Actually these boycotts may have a beneficial side-effect. Since every service industry employer with over 49 employees will be moving to the 28-hour work week, the liberals will have to boycott all of them, meaning they’ll either have to learn to do things for themselves, or patronize really small businesses. The first way they’ll start learning self-reliance, the second they’ll actually come in contact with actual business owners and hear their complaints, rather than regarding business owners as distant corporate moguls.

The public school idea has come and gone ~ it lingers as a vague memory simply because people don’t know how to hack their way through the bramble of software now available ~ but they’re catching up.

Workers comp laws provide the workers comp benefit on the empolyer's nickle. I think Obamacare mandates employer coverage of health care costs for full time workers. The term "insurance" is a bit of a misnomer, when the coverage is for (when looked across the entire population) medical care.

I think O and Thugs have thot this through: Fewer workers, fewer hours = more government-dependent people to give entitlements to = more potential O workers.

The equation works well.

Absolutely the same thing I was thinking. Papa John’s will not be the only employer going down the gawdawful road.

Thanks, Libs.

With all these people being laid off, perhaps now they can be bothered to take the time to homeschool their children. Lemonade from lemons, folks...
