Israel drawn into Syria fighting for first time

Israel was drawn into the Syrian civil war for the first time on Sunday, firing warning shots into the neighboring country after a stray mortar shell from across the border hit an Israeli military post.

The Israeli military said the mortar fire caused no injuries or damage at the post in the Golan Heights, which Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war and then annexed. But in recent weeks, incidents of errant fire from Syria to the north have multiplied, leading Israel to warn that it holds Syria responsible for fire on Israeli-held territory.

No!

Wilson called for war on Germany, which the U.S. Congress declared on 6 April 1917.

That was when the Republic DIED.

November 6, 2012 is when it was buried!

I recall a top of the hour CBS radio broadcast at the time. They jumped the gun and said that Israeli fighter jets were retaliating by bombing targets in Iraq. It turned out to be completely wrong.

The republic died in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act and the 16th Amendment.

Unless Assad has a death wish for himself and his nation, he won’t start trouble with Israel. His worn-out military can’t put down an internal rebellion; it wouldn’t last 12 hours against Israel. But the Syrian rebels are another story. If Israel is provoked into clobbering Assad’s military, all the better for the rebels.

Right after 0’s reelection, the middle east heats up and Israel prepares to defend itself.
Without the help of the USA.
Do the middle easterners know that 0 will not lift a finger to help Israel?
Sure looks that way.

In a little talked-about war in Congo-Brazzaville, the same thing began happening to a military camp in the across-the-river country of Congo-Kinshasa. Everyone knew it was the attempt of one side to draw the neighbor into the conflict, but there was debate about which side was doing it. The question was tacitly answered when the government warned their neighbor not to intervene. Why wouldn’t it be the “bros?” They win the publicity war either way—especially since the media is complicit.
