Military Timeline From Night of Benghazi Attack Begs More Questions
Fox News ^ | 11/11/2012 | Jennifer Griffin/Adam Housley

After more than nine weeks of trying to reconcile their story line with that of the State Department and the CIA, the Pentagon finally released its timeline of the Libya terror attack during a Friday afternoon, off-camera briefing with an official who could only be quoted anonymously.

The news was overtaken almost immediately by the announcement that Gen. David Petraeus had resigned, purportedly due to an extramarital affair. He was slated to testify in closed-door hearings on Capitol Hill this coming week before the Senate and House intelligence committees. Petraeus no longer plans to testify.

However, while the Petraeus resignation has since dominated attention in Washington, an examination of the military’s version of events reveals a number of discrepancies and gaps worth closer scrutiny.

We might get hit in the USA, but I'm thinking that we have just announced to the world that we CANNOT defend our embassies or other diplomatic or business outposts, not even ones that are very close to Europe.

Every American overseas had better factor this in. We cannot, and will not (based on POTUS not being willing to grant CBA while it mattered) come to the rescue of a besieged outpost.

This is just a shocking revelation.

Think about it: The U.S. ambassador is MISSING and must be presumed to be in Al-Qaeda hands, perhaps he will show up on a Nick Berg/Dan Pearl beheading video. That must be the working assumption while he is missing. This is "crisis-level infinity" for a president.

And Obama refused to grant cross-border authority in the time window when rescue forces could have gotten to Behghazi! (Either from Spain or Croatia.)

The entire time until every American was out of Benghazi, (including the ambassador---dead or alive), the president should have been sending every military asset from armed jets on down to Benghazi on frigging afterburners.

And he didn't. He dithered. Even with a missing ambassador in AQtown.

It still comes down to Obama NOT GRANTING CROSS-BORDER AUTHORITY while it mattered. To me, if this is not treason, what is it?

Our enemies must be in shock and awe at this revelation. Simply stunning.

Certain friends who have managed to stay very infrequently in touch are beyond livid right now. I am not sure what to expect, but I DO expect....

I pretty much assumed anybody out-of-country is at risk .... wonder what would happen if they all said “sorry, coming home, don’t feel safe”. Of course, Hillary’s latest speech at some event honoring Chris Stevens, emphasized how he had “volunteered” to go to risky places, etc. It was more than disgusting .... had the tone of blaming Stevens himself for what happened.

I read your article on CBA ... I think you are exactly right. I also heard Jason Chaffetz yesterday talking about Obama’s statement that “I did three things ... blah blah blah”. Chaffetz flatly stated that he does not think Obama gave the order(s) to secure people, etc. I just hope there are people left in the government who will pursue this issue to the truth .... I think it boils down to treason, but I think the president is politically protected by his ‘tan’ from what his fate truly should be. I also REALLY have a problem with Obama being CIC and having the lives of our heroes in the military in his hands ... he’s feckless and a coward and will do anything to achieve HIS goals, not do what is best for the country. This is just such a nightmare on so many levels it is hard to comprehend.

They are NOT in good shape as a party with Obama at the head, no matter what we think.

Tell that to the Boehner. He thinks Republicans got beat bad.

we CANNOT defend our embassies or other diplomatic or business outposts,

Obama REFUSED to defend...(and probably more than once).

The only decisions coming out of the WH were political decisions of expedience. They have been fudging timelines. When we put the final timeline together, I think we will see that there were many decisions made that night---all political, based on the events they were seeing each critical step of the way.

Does anyone want to think of what would have happened to the people Woods rescued had he not disobeyed orders?

Politicking is hell. You folks just don't understand how hard our job is. We expect there will be bumps in the road.

Re: CBA

Last night on Judge Jeanine, Col David Hunt & Gary Bernsen, former CIA officer

At min 52, they are at a map describing what they are certain could have been done and in what amount of time.

Judge: And let's talk about, you know, you kinda hear this argument coming out that we have to get permission from the Libyans to go in their air space.

Hunt: No, there is no air space in Libya. There's no air force in Libya. Air Force or Navy ... would not care. If they are told to go, they are going to go.

Judge to Bernsen: Do you agree?

Bernsen: Agree, agree. There's no air force. They have no spare parts. They can't fix anything. There is nothing flying, really, no military aircraft flying in Libya right now.
******************

I can't find any video yet except this video of guest KT McFarland, who said she was a personal friend of Petraeus.

She said 18 months ago Petraeus would have had an investigation and a polygraph (for CIA Director) from the FBI. The FBI and WH (because file would go to WH Personnel office) knew then about the affair.

She said in spring of 2011 when she was in Afghanistan there were "definitely rumors (about the affair) from a number of people."

She also said that when senior official testifies before Congress, they submit their testimony to the WH. If they didn't like what Petraeus was going to say....

She is certain that Petraeus would NOT lie under oath.

http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/justice-jeanine/index.html
*****************

The entire program is worth seeing. There was also another guest, Chris Mark Heben, former Nacy Seal and CIA officer. He went to Seal school with Doherty and had contact with Woods and Doherty on many occasions. All 3 were medics, so they did a lot of cross-training together. "I have a long history with these guys." Heben has also been in Libya.

He said Woods disregarded the order to stand down, and that he thinks this will come out.

"The fact that these guys were hung out to dry, basically exposed like a set of dog balls, pisses me off."

He flat out said he doesn't believe a word that comes out of Clinton's mouth.

The judge should have kept him on longer and asked him more questions.

Yep, it surely is a mess. For the first time in my life, I would NOT advise young relatives to join the military or the fedgov in general. It’s corrupt and evil now, at all of the top levels. Obama/Jarrett/Axlerod/Holder/Hillary/Huma and that gang, we expect evil and corruption. But it appears that they have corrupted Mueller, Petreaus, Panetta, Dempsey etc.

They are edging closer to openly discussing CBA, (no matter how it’s acronymed in 2012).

The strong inference in context above about Libyan air space is that we only used that as an after-the-fact absurd excuse for not entering Libyan territory for an urgent military rescue.

It’s the same reason the FBI didn’t get to Benghazi for 24 days. Hillary didn’t want them there at all, and if they had to go, when the scene had been burned, looted, robbed, pillaged, and picked over, and probably pissed upon.

It disgusts me that these traitors are our “leaders.” And worse is yet to come, far, far worse. Extrapolate Benghazi bungling to Iran/Israel going to war. Imagine what “terrible tragedies” will befall U.S. forces while Obama secretly is playing for the other side.

What a story to behold.

Yes, exactly. And thus our all-volunteer military becomes populated with people like them, or at least willing to take orders from them.

I saw the Judge Jeanine show & the interviews you were talking about (KT & the Seal/CIA guy). JJ is REALLY on this Benghazi thing .... she’s been outraged from the start. I think she’s been better than any of the other shows (B’ORe, Hannity, even Greta).

One thing I have noticed .... more and more people are just flat out angry and saying what they think .... the ‘exposed like dog balls’ is one and I saw Jason Chaffetz get very angry in an interview and say a few things that were not the usual measured ‘Congress-speak’. He’s furious ... said he’d talked to Issa about Petraeus testifying & they were going to let the next day or so play out, then talk about it Monday or Tuesday, but Chaffetz thinks Petraeus should testify this week.

Note there was apparently reluctance to cross the border in September without permission from the Libyan government at the time.

There was not, however, any apparent reluctance to cross the border last year in support of the revolution without permission from the Libyan government at the time.

Both Obama and Biden may wind up getting impeached and removed from office when all this plays out.

Don't count on it.

Even if the House unanimously votes Articles of Impeachment on the issue, as long as Dingy Harry and the Dems control the Senate, they won't even acknowledge the existence of Articles of Impeachment.

DW, it is true that the Senate will not acknowledge the impeachment by the House. But that is not sufficient reason NOT to do it. That has been the trump card until now.

But we are reaching a tipping point where Senators will have to act according to their oath of office or face the wrath of the American people.

And that is where we come in. We will have to educate a lot of people as to why Obama and Biden are unfit for office, or at least make the effort. And as to why these Dem Senators better do their duty.

The “private sex affair” excuse is one and done.

When the President lies, fails to protect Americans engaged in saving other Americans, when the President knows the head of his CIA is a national security risk and does nothing, and it finally comes out how we have been running arms from Libya to Syria illegally,we will have to face the massive corruption that is staring us in the face.

The Founders took on the British Empire for far less.

Obama sounded more neo-con then Romney during the Campaign. He killed Osama Bin Laden, dont you know.

If he had campaigned as a progressive pacifist who would never harm Osama Bin Laden, he would have lost the moderates.

If he had campaigned as a neo-con that had Osama Bin Laden, Ghadaffi and Murabak either killed or removed from power, and tried to do the same to Assad, he would have lost his base.

So he lied. He campaigned as a pacifist neo-con and his voters failed to notice the dichotomy.

Judge Jeanine is excellent.

Note my tagline. Former Navy SEAL/CIA officer Heben taught me a new phrase. I obviously don't hang out with the right crowd. ; )

ROFLOL!!! Unfamiliar to me too. I had to replay it a few times to hear what I was hearing. Imagine my horror in posting it if I misheard what I heard. LOL

New tagline. Good for you! Mine is (.). I don’t know how that happened.

There is an uproar in the military community. No doubt about it-—especially the Seals, for good reason. And as it would be with every red-blooded American if they only knew the facts....................(sigh)

I couldn't believe my ears as well. I must have played it least 10 times.

How the heck can obama poison so much in 4 years? I cannot imagine the next four years.

Are you Military or former Military? If so, is it true that 50% of the active Military in Virginia voted Obama?

Following on your question about active duty military voting for Obama, from commentary that I have read and heard since last Wednesday, apparently the remotely possible future threat of outlawing of abortion motivated more voters than the in-our-face collapse of our country in these next few years.

“Republicans would have won if they dropped their social issues...” “their evangelical voters...”

I guess this outlook could have applied to military as well as civilian voters.
