Obama's Hurricane Sandy Trip to New York Timed to Brother-in-Law's Basketball Tourney

Priorities. While hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are still suffering without heat and power, Barack Obama is waiting until Thursday, November 15 to visit New York City to meet with struggling survivors of Hurricane Sandy and review the recovery process firsthand. The visit happens to come on the same day that Obama's college basketball coach brother-in-law will be in town for a tournament.

Obama paid an election-savvy visit to New Jersey on October 31, right after Sandy hit, but held off visiting New York City at the request of Mayor Mike Bloomberg as the city was not prepared for a presidential visit so soon after the devastating storm.

Bloomberg said Friday Obama called him that day to tell Bloomberg he was coming to New York on Thursday.

The Oregon State University Beavers basketball team, coached by Obama's brother-in-law Craig Robinson, is scheduled to play Alabama in the 2K Sports Classic at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Conveniently for Obama, the tournament benefits the Wounded Warrior Project and is being held in downtown Manhattan at Madison Square Garden.

So if he goes it's a win-win for Obama. He gets to slack off doing what he loves best--preening for the cameras at a sporting event--while getting to do his job as commander-in-chief for the troops after looking presidential with regard to Sandy.

Meanwhile, today Obama went golfing while fed-up New Yorkers protested after going almost two weeks without power since the hurricane hit.

H/t to Jammie Wearing Fools for noting the scheduling coincidence. However JWF buried it as a snark and did not develop it further.

Karma will catch up with him and his crew at some point
for now he’s living large and in charge.
What a joke.

Obots don’t care. Obama could be a killer and they’ll blame Bush.

NYTimes says old people dying, tens of thousands in public housing still without power. But hey, Hail Obama!

Everything Hussein Obama does is for self-aggrandizement or amusement. Only the cool-aide guzzling fools who voted for him think he cares about them.

Yes, the sad thing is that it doesn’t matter what Obama does.

Friends of mine in NY who live on higher ground on the Upper West Side and were barely affected are out there worshipping him because that’s what they’ve been doing since forever.

But I actually saw an interview with somebody on Staten Island whose house had been swept away and she said the equivalent of “Obama’s so inspiring, I wasn’t going to vote for him before but I am now.”

Why?

Many of his followers are really messed up to not see that the man is a fraud or it's mostly revenge now. I think it's looks like a Jim Jones cult. He never gets the blame because they are doing him like they did Bill Clinton. Surround him with praise and support. Though, this time, they have the race card they do use. Hell is waiting for them. No one does these intentional things and gets away with it. Maybe one day, someone in his administration, a patriot in our government will have the goods of proof.

K,

Frankly, my attitude regarding the Obama lovers in NY and NJ is one of “tough crap”. Overwhelmingly, these two states voted for statism.

At least my state was razor-thin close.

I find it hard to muster ANY sympathy for the deep Democrat states; and as far as any media types or urbanites who are going to be facing hardships in the coming months....well, I just don’t see myself getting worked up over their problems. They deserve all they chose....their racist vote created their world.

I too believe karma will catch up to him. He is too arrogant and too corrupt to ride it out for life. These kind of people always come crashing down at some point. I just hope I get to see it. Bill Clinton seems to be the exception.
