Murphy Above Recount Range; No West Concession("We Will Absolutely Take Legal Action")

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.(AP) — Firebrand GOP Rep. Allen West, whose made-for-TV rhetoric made him a prized voice of extreme conservatives, has been ousted by political newcomer Patrick Murphy, according to the state's vote count Saturday, but the incumbent was not planning to concede.

In complete but unofficial numbers, Murphy held a 2,442-vote lead in the District 18 race. His 50.4 percent of the vote was above the threshold for a recount, but West's campaign said they would press forward.

"We're simply not going to just walk away from the race until we see that the numbers add up," West campaign manager Tim Edson said.

-snip-

West's campaign insists there are many unanswered questions in the race, mostly centered in St. Lucie County, the only one of three counties in the district that Murphy won. They've expressed concern votes were counted twice and have asked to review sign-in books from the polls to ensure the number of voters matches the ballot count.

Edson said "we will absolutely take legal action" if the documentation is not made available.

"If all the votes have been counted and we see that those numbers do add up," Edson said, "then obviously the congressman will concede at that time."

Under state law, West still could contest the election if they believe misconduct or fraud might have changed its result.

In an interview Friday with television station WPEC, West said "being a member of Congress does not define who I am" and that he was not conceding because he believed the voters deserved such action.

Blame the Republican Party. Then stop supporting them.

Just the facts. These reporters just can't do it.

These people can't write a story with out throwing in their opinion.

They just have to throw in adjectives, viz "extreme conservatives".

I thought they recounted and West won.

At least we have one Republican who will fight.

Why isn’t Romney fighting in Ohio wher some of the counties had 108% of registered voters voting.
Even if he lost the National election he should still insist on a recount and find out why more people voted than they have registered. It is his Patriotic duty to have anyone who assisted in that fraud arrested and convicted.

It’s time to stop walking away from this disgraace.
Win or lose take the cheaters to court.

Some precincts in St Lucie county reportedly had more than 130% voter turnout. This is not possible. Can you say voter fraud?

It’s going to be interesting trying to match all those extra votes with the registration. The Dums are going to get caught if West gets to look over the documentation.

What’s this about then?

Allen West Wins Congressional Race: Report

Florida congressman Allen West has won his re-election bid by a narrow enough margin to prompt a full recount, according to sources within the Republican’s ranks.

“Boots on the ground update from the Allen West election count via Gary Angelo Galiano: ‘We win by 195,’” Congresman West supporter Gary Angelo Galiano posted on his Facebook account early Saturday morning.

“Why isn’t Romney fighting in Ohio wher some of the counties had 108% of registered voters voting.”

Um, because if you are down like 2 million votes and Obama won with many other states putting him well over the 270 EV limit even without Ohio, fighting over one county wont add up to a hill of beans.

that said, the Ohio GOP should be on it like white on rice if there is something to fix in the vote count, local races might be impacted.
