'My wife's having an affair with someone I admire': Did husband describe..partner's affair with..CIA
Daily Mail ^ | November 10, 2012 | James Nye

Did the cuckolded husband of Paula Broadwell send a letter to a New York Times advice column back in July that revealed he knew of her affair with David Petraeus?

That intriguing possibility has been raised after canny observers dug out the July 13th edition of Chuck Klosterman's 'The Ethicist' and pointed to extraordinary coincidences between one readers letter and the now scandalous love tryst.

Writing about a deepening relationship he knew his wife was having with a 'government executive' whose job 'is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership' the anonymous man offers up what could be considered in hindsight as striking information.

Dumb letter by hubby, if it was written by hubby.

You can divorce your spouse for any or no reason.

Just go up to her and say, “look, I know you are banging General Viagrs. I want out. I won’t make a big deal and expose either of you. I just want out. Sign here.”

If she chooses to fight you, she might publicly reveal the information. Hubby doesn’t have to.

He could easily divorce his wife without exposing Petraeus.

The letter doesn’t make sense.

Maybe Petraeus realized too late that he had been played by the woman, that the woman had used him to write her story and was now scared that she would write a tell all.

Even if court marshalled he would most likely face being reduced one rank. Not that big a deal at his pay grade.

Jeeze....you can’t make this stuff up. Sex under a desk? You’d kind of expect that from a teenager—not the head of the CIA.

Those are the kind of book titles one would see in an issue of Mad Magazine.

I feel ike i’m living in the Twilight Zone or that’s there’s been a major burp in the Matrix or something.

“if it was written by hubby.”

Other articles indicate the FBI investigator wasn’t too happy that requesting resignation was going to be delayed until after the election - the article mentioned “for months.” Who knows how long this has been known by the FBI - wouldn’t be surprised if it was a very long time and this may have been from someone involved in the investigation as they recognized Zero was just sitting on information so he could be the blackmailer - keep Petrayus in line when he would ultimately see a need. Libya provided the need - play wasn’t made until after the election settled and before Petrayus would testify - but Petrayus neutered it by resigning. Testimony will be very interesting, hope he doesn’t plan on any visits to Fort Marcy Park before talking.

He would have to have his portrait repainted with one less star. You don’t know generals.

Re: FBI
Last night on Fox someone said he was vetted by the CIA, not the FBI when Obama named him to replace Panetta. Strange because it is the FBI that usually vets.

This man’s letter could have been written by many spouses both male and female.

—————That intriguing possibility has been raised after canny observers dug out the July 13th-———

Hey, you think these ‘canny observers’ (who obviously have time to sift through millions of *’Dear Abby’ type letters)
can get a line on some college transcripts etc -birth certificates - SS # clarification?

*Maybe they ‘sifted’ though “Letters to Penthouse”?

“YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS STORY, which is why I have to write it.
My boss is a 4 star whom I have been having a torrid affair with. It started in a war zone (well I had a crush on him while at the Point) It (sort of) ended abruptly when he was assigned a high ranking ‘initial’ job (NOT FBI) in the Federal Govt.
Capt Anonymous”

I feel badly for the ones who were betrayed. What a terrible trauma that must be. God have mercy on them and protect the hearts of their children - adults and minors.

Adultery is not a victimless sin. The damage can carry on on for generations. I’ll never understand why people don’t grasp the magnitude of the damage they are doing to love and trust or don’t care about it? Our socieity of families is being ravished by instant gratification. Love and loyality is becomming a joke - a lie to young people.

As far as Paterous goes, he was disloyal to his wife. He was shockingly disloyal to Americans when he joined the traitors who demanded the constitution be scrapped to place Amercia under Sharia speech control laws. Talk about disappointed!

The FBI does the background checks (having been subject to needing clearances in my prior careers) - the “vetting” was more likely relying on prior FBI investigations/clearances.

Actually I have met the man personally in Iraq. Didn’t care for him much then either.

I just wrote it off to the fact that all officers who have obtained that rank pretty much are political animals and no longer Soldiers.

Heck, it could have been planted by the WH.

Naaahhh...if the WH was responsible it would have appeared in Pravda.

Washington is a snake pit of corruption and debauchery. This man’s letter could have been written by many spouses both male and female.

Are you suggesting that Mooshelle is getting it on with Jay-Z?

The NYT has confirmed that Broadwell did not write this letter. What were the odds that it was? It sounded like something college students would dream up -- or maybe something one bureaucrat wrote to discredit another.
