CBS ^

rally was scheduled on Long Island Saturday for fed-up utility customers to voice their frustration about still being without power nearly two weeks after superstorm Sandy struck, CBS Station WCBS reports.

Many residents will spend their 13th day in the dark and cold Saturday, and there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel

Hows that song go, “Oh, the weather outside is frightfull, but the fire is so delightful. Since there`s simply no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” Enjoy, New York, enjoy!

I really find myself kind of conflicted over this. It involves two different groups of people who may as well be living on a different planet, as far as I’m concerned: (1) incompetent bureaucrats in government agencies and government-run utilities, and (2) residents who have become so dependent on a nanny-state government that they can’t fend for themselves.

I’m glad somebody said it. SO silly to sit around whining that others aren’t coming to your rescue. Face life and get on with it.After Katrina I was thoroughly disgusted that people expected some divine-like government magic to presto-changeo make everything all rosey again.
Can’t imagine why any conservative would expect politicians and government to handle this job. Things happen, face up to it and get on with life. If you expect others to bail you out, don’t be surprised at the lack of response.

I said national media. Granted, anyone can call this stuff up on the net, but if you recall, Katrina coverage was wall-to-wall.

The despicable Michael Moore has expressed thankfully his belief that Sandy helped re-elect Obama.
The New York/New Jersey area liberals who are suffering in the aftermath need to be reminded of that.

Funny you should mention that - I was wondering if they were saving this for when the Bengahzi hearings start (Tuesday I think?)

Not everyone is unhappy. The electrical workers union is very happy with the long season of over-time they’ll cash in on. It paid to keep the non-union southern workers out who wanted to help restore the power for the people for free.

But this is Obama country. These people are so bright, they don’t need light...but heat may be a problem around Christmas time.

This is the Eastern piss-and-moan crowd. They will wait for someone else to do the work. When the next crisis hits, these fools will be equally unprepared. No water,no food,no generator, just big mouthes bitching ‘till the government gets there to bail them out.

Part of the problem is that in the Democrat's incessant demonizing of Bush after Katrina ( for political gain) they created an expectation that somehow everything should, and will be fixed immediately..

It's totally unrealistic. You can't rebuild an electric infrastructure..poles, lines, transformers, for hundreds of thousands of people in a week or so..

Just consider it a type of layoff notice from God due to the election.

Not to worry your president is flying in on his private plane that cost millions to take a trip to come so you can see he is on the job..Remember you voted for him because he did so much for you..Taking pictures with your local leaders..Remember he is on the job..Maybe when he comes back from vacation you will get what you need..Like electric..

That's only when Republicans are in charge.

Speaking of Whoraldo, doesn’t he have a boat that he likes to be photographed shirtless riding around in?

He thinks he’s a real man but can’t see that he is only Village People-macho.

I guess there wasn’t a good photo-op for him, so he didn’t bother trying to help out.

” A rally “

Really....people without power for more than two weeks and their idiot unions are stopping help from other states to fix the downed power lines ...

....and they have a rally....without pitchforks and tar and feathers

Cavuto just had a panel on about what is going on in NY - they were going ballistic. One of the guys was saying Staten Island is destroyed, schools being used for morgues. Cuomo not doing the job, neither is FEMA. Areas look 3rd world or like Mogadishu. Really bitching about the victory lap officials were taking 10 hours in about how well things were being handled and that is NOT the case. Talking about how poor the media coverage has been of the truth about what is going on (so what else is new?). Saying Obama should visit and take a look (why? when has he ever showed true compassion for anything unless is increased his change of getting re-elected?). NY sending $10,000/person to the FEDs and have to beg and break out the pom poms to get it back. Woo ... some mad, upset folks. Big discussion of who knows the situation best - Feds in DC or state officials.
