'Next Bush' makes campaign filing in Texas

George P. Bush, a nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of one-time Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has made a campaign filing in Texas that is required of candidates planning to run for state office, an official said Thursday night.

The younger Bush, a Fort Worth resident, filed a campaign treasurer appointment Wednesday, a requirement for someone to become a candidate under campaign finance law, Tim Sorrells, general counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission, told The Associated Press.

Sorrells said the report does not specify what office Bush might seek, if any, and he had no other details on the filing, which wasn't available online. Bush did not immediately reply to an email seeking comment, and no phone listing for him could be found.

The 36-year-old said in September his goal was to run for office and acknowledged that he had his eyes on several statewide offices.

Raised in Florida, Bush decided to settle in Texas, home to his uncle and his grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush. He runs a consulting firm and has been active in Republican Party outreach to college students. He's also the co-founder of Hispanic Republicans of Texas, a group that seeks to elect Hispanic candidates.

The Bushes are the GOP version of the Kennedy's, and just as terrible and worthless.

“The Bushes are the GOP version of the Kennedy’s - - - “

That has been my understanding for a long time. Today’s party of RINO’s are now what the Kennedy Democrat party was in the 60’s. (I think this is why many cannot see any difference between Republicans and Democrats.)

The democrat party is now a commie socialist party that belongs in Europe.

The only party that represents conservative values is the Tea Party.

It will be interesting to see which statewide office he maybe interested in pursuing which could occur in 2014.

Well, if you clicked through the link to read the whole story you will find that he served a tour of Afghanistan, among other useful services. When he served in A, he had to do so under an assumed name. Even his collegues did not know his real name.

Have either of you served a tour in Afghanistan?

Good observation. Sadly, Mitt and his four sons had no military experience.

Note that most US Presidents have had daughters - weird - GW Sr. had one, W had 2, Nixon 2, LBJ 2, JFK 1, Carter 1, Reagan 2, Clinton 1. Ford 3. Obama 2.

Rule of thumb; If a candidate for POTUS has a son - he had better be in the military - or have served. I think it may be subliminal.

That's not saying much. I would take Humpty-Dumpty over the Kris Kringle we have now.

I do really like your tag line.

GWH Bush had another daughter who died and 3, or 4 sons. LBJ had an illegitimate son. (Spittin’ image. Died before it could be proved.) JFK had 2 sons, one who died at birth and one who died in his 20s. Carter had several sons. Reagan had 2 sons (one adopted). Ford had only 1 daughter and 3 sons. We’re not sure whether Clinton had any children at all ;)

So, I count 15 sons vs 15 daughters. Seems to me that the sons are holding their own.
