Is Petraeus Falling on His Sword?
American Thinker ^ | 11/10/12 | Fay Voshell

Posted on 11/10/2012 2:36:46 AM PST by advance_copy

Was General Petraeus told by the Obama administration to fall on his sword? Was the general told he would be exposed unless he clammed up about Benghazi? Did he decide to blow his own cover before the president could? Could it be he is sitting on stuff that would tempt some in ccongress to consider the president's impeachment -- and Obama knows it?

There are so many unanswered questions.

[snip]

If he is ordered to tell the truth and does so, the consequences for the administration could be catastrophic.

What if Patraeus never had an affair and told his wife that he was going to do this to get out of testifying. The only problem is the woman getting attention as the other woman. Could the Patraeus’ be paying her off?

He was seduced.

NO ONE has yet pointed our what a powerful woman Broadwell is....

she is powerful, agressive - a female “Renaissance” person....check out these.......

THIS IS BIG.....but all the focus is on Petraeus now....eventually it will come out
how powerful she is.......bet she was a major in the Army Reserves.....

And I’ll almost guarantee that she’s the one who made the first move.....she met a man she had to conquer……who Petraeus could out-run though much older…...look at her resume’…...

http://www.penguinspeakersbureau.com/speakers/page/paula_broadwell

And watch her come on stage and how she responds to Jon Stewart - beating him at his game while looking like a knock-out movie star.......a brilliant, driven and
stunning woman in full control.....

I feel exactly like that!! I don't trust ANYTHING any more. Fox, Mainstream, Hannity, Rush.

I find myself questioning everything! Are my taxes going up? Should I start being super frugal and save up? Is inflation going to make saving pointless? Is my 3 months of emergency water and canned goods enough? Should I prep for longer? I have a little silver, should I buy more? Is my 401k going to be ok? Should I just try to ignore "zillion dollar deficits", "fiscal cliffs" and "debt ceilings" and carry on contributing to my retirement and spending as usual? I don't know!

The one and only thing I feel confident about right now is my supply of ammo.

More like falling on a little pocket knife, I posted this on an earlier thread...

This isn’t A + B = C ... what is going on is more akin to Math and what the guy in “A Beautiful Mind” was scribbling on windows ... it is a very high level Chess game.

The price that the General just paid says more about the level than the facts that we now know.

I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I couldn’t possibly know... but I did spend 28 years in Uniform and I do know that this little dagger that Petraeus is falling on now is magnified 10X (or more) in the Media to make it look like a Sword... it is an illusion or distraction... the who, what and why is yet to be determined and will probably never be known to any others than the few that are engaged in this particular game.

Also Petraeus is way too powerful for Zero to just let go peacefully to pasture... he knows far too much and has many allies and if he had somehow been forced to put his Queen at risk... Zero has lot’s of people to take care of things while he plays Golf but recently he has stepped into a different realm and I predict (quite sure of it) he is going to fall far ... far short of the task ... Biden can’t / won’t last either so President Boehner?

Interesting times! (Chinese Curse or an excuse to Pop Corn)

TT

PS The Media Investigates, Reports and Publishes at an Eighth Grade level, they are never to be believed.

Fox is parroting the other media outlets. It accepts the official explanation for Petraeus’ departure without question. Fox no longer has the balls to conduct any kind of extensive investigation into anything involving this administration.

Makes me wonder what the Obama thugs have on Fox News.

I don’t see what the fuss is all about, except that it is agenda-driven. Petraeus is merely a general. Remember how gently the media and most of congress treated the COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF Bill Clinton for his disgusting behavior? We know that General Eisenhower had a little something going on with his driver. We know JFK, and FDR were not faithful to their spouse either...yet they are revered. Why is the media, including FOX, yammering on about Petraeus, unless it is to degrade his reputation and his potential testimony?

Doesn’t really matter... Dear Leader & his team can not do anything wrong. Pravda will cover for him and most Americans are no longer Americans. God help this country.

Could it be that our military leaders are getting sick and tired about this “Thing” who calls himself our leader but has no balls or conscience and tries to run this country into the ground. Only about a handful of retired generals approved of this “Thing” and over fifty had an unfavorable opinion of him. May be something is brewing and some one wants to right the wrong of having one of our ambassadors sodomized, dragged around the streets all bloodied up before they blew his brains out, along with killing several other of our braves. Perhaps there is still honor amongst our military where there is none in the W. H. and things have gone just a little too far. This may be just the final straw what could break the camels back. I may be wrong but I would place my bet on David Petraeus that he has more honor than the whole bunch in Washington put together and will do the honorable thing and the life’s lost will not be in vain just to suit an unscrupulous politician to further his aim. Besides if he happens to do the wrong thing he will have to live the rest of his life being despised and shunned by his peers who still consider honor to be a virtue.

For many years I held to the theory that, being born in 1948 I had a pretty good viewpoint of my generation and the Viet Nam cleansing.

I used the word 'cleansing' because, once I learned about Macnamara and the administrations that had oversight of Viet Nam, I came to the conclusion that we post WW2 males were just educated enough to be a serious threat and danger to a blossoming effort to sieze control of America.

Later in life I analyzed the seemingly senseless loss of life both military and civilian and I concluded, with the help of a lot of protective tin foil, that there was a plot to kill off men that could potentially take the control of a major enterprize.

Along comes John Lenon and "a working class hero" keeping doped with religion and sex and TV and .... we ll ... I was ready for war or the loony bin.

Then I married.

fast forward 15 or so years and I see a geographical area being used to stage war and a lot of young men (granted, not as many as in VN), either dieing or coming home and committing suicide (at least that is what I'm told)

They have rules of engagement that .. surprise !! .. do not include engagement of the enemy.

I might come home, listen/watch radio and TV, get on the internet and discover (among others) FreeRepublic and decide I was crazy ... and eat lead.

OK .. that's the basic theory

As a student of American history, I know that at one time if a man thought he had been wronged or knew he was being done wrong, there was no hesitancy in taking matters into his own hands and hurting or killing whomever was believed to be the harmer.

I'm not condoning retribution, but I AM wondering why boys don't learn to punch another boy because of ... whatever

Young bucks don't NEED a miffed ideology to flex their muscles ... they are cocked springs waiting for release.

OK ... Patreus;

He, as SO many other grown men, has been involved in a life structure that ... doesn't make a lot of sense anymore.

What makes a successful general anyway?

I kept more of my men from killing the enemy than any other general ??

Whether he was set up or not, it doesn't matter what happened but what WILL happen.

Has he been SO conditioned to not fight that he won't?

Has he accepted the theory as fact that there IS a power that kills off intelligent men to prevent they're ever coming to power?

(Alan West)

Isaiah 3 speaks of the mighty man and eloquent man, the captain of many no longer on the scene (they weren't 'taken out' ... they just no longer ARE), and in their place are women and children.

WaS I crazy in the 60's to think that there was a conspiracy to kill off middle class, educated young men to prevent their ever coming to power?

I call on Gen. Patreus to expose what he knows before he dies (figuratively or literally)

Somehow .. I just can't accept that I'm crazy.

(I've done my best to compose without sounding like I'm rambling, but after reading this before posting, I think I'd better not try to make writing an income producing endeaver ... I'll starve to death )

"We can’t get any truth."

AMEN I don't trust even FOX anymore. . . .

What, you mean you don't like Geraldo Rivera, Shep Smith and Bob Beckel giving you their versions of "fair and balanced"?

If Fox News Channel was truly fair and balanced, they'd get rid of those slimeballs and many more. The balance then would be when they are weighed against the Mouthpiece Media.

I started buying precious metals a while back OK 4 years ago to be exact. When the community organizer got in.
Gold, Silver Platinum? No much more precious than that.
LEAD, COPPER & BRASS sitting on or surrounded by some fine gunpowder. . . .

A four star General....becomes involved in a petty relationship with a journalist....

Petraeus graduated from West Point in 1974. He earned the General George C. Marshall Award as the top graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College Class of 1983 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

He subsequently earned an M.P.A. in 1985 and a Ph.D. degree in international relations in 1987 from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, then served as an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the U.S. Military Academy from 1985 to 1987.

His doctoral dissertation was entitled “The American Military and the Lessons of Vietnam: A Study of Military Influence and the Use of Force in the Post-Vietnam Era”.[28] He also completed a military fellowship at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in 1994–1995, although he was called away early to serve in Haiti as the Chief of Operations for the UN force there in early 1995.[

There were 500 senior officers who were publicly opposed to Obama. Petreaus may now have joined their ranks.

The President may now have a price on his head not placed there by Al Qeada

“Being ordered to testify would technically allow him to remain loyal to Obama and his oaths as a military officer.”

That sentence bothers me. Loyalty to a President? Not the Constitution? Not the nation? That is the stuff dictatorships are made of.
