‘Secular’ Ariz. Democrat to replace sole atheist in Congress (Pete Stark)
Washington Post ^ | November 09, 2012 | Kimberly Winston

Rep. Pete Stark, D-Calif., the only openly atheist member of Congress, lost his race for another term on Tuesday (Nov. 6).

But secularists will not remain unrepresented in the Capitol. Democrat Kyrsten Sinema, a former Arizona state senator who was raised Mormon and is a bisexual, has narrowly won her pitch for a House seat by 2,000 votes.

“We are sad to see Pete Stark go,” said Roy Speckhardt, executive director of the American Humanist Association, which gave Stark its Humanist of the Year award in 2008.

“He was a pioneer for us, and by being open about his lack of a belief in God we hope that he has opened the door for people like Kyrsten Sinema and others that will come after...

The psalmist has written that the fool has said in his heart that there is no god. Congress has just lost an old fool.

It is comforting that even a leftist candidate would successfully defeat this guy with an appeal to the "In God We Trust" issue. A small consolation in this election is that there are no longer any open adherents of the atheistic faith in Congress. Open atheism is generally too much for even the Sodom and Gomorrah party.

I bet there are a lot of closet atheists in Congress, even amongst the GOP.

Hell yes. There are ample atheists among pastors of mainline protestant churches.

What do you call someone who declares themselves openly bi-sexual?

Obviously she is very sexually active.Even Promiscuous.

I looked up her image she is a fairly good looking slut.

I guess you would call her a Swinger?

Not what I would call a slave to morality.

Washington will love her.She will fit right in.

Congressman Pete Stark — the origin of the term “stark raving mad.” Not really, but I just had to say it any way. In many ways, he was more of a moonbat that Nancy Pelosi.

He won’t enjoy it for very long. He’s older than dirt.

Besides, he’s such a nasty person he only enjoyed making others miserable.

Hope you have a horrible retirement Pete, and if it does turn out to be horrible, I hope it lasts a long, long time!

A few years ago Sean Hannity was down on the border. To show how easy it was to get through he went under the so-called fence. She wanted him arrested for illegally entering Mexico. Yes, she’s a first class nut job.

Krysten Sinema is a well documented Communist Party USA/Arizona sympathizer. Go to www.keywiki.org for the evidence.

This is very unusual for Arizona, which was once the most patriotic state in the Southwest/West, the home of Barry Goldwater, Sam Steiger, Joe Arpaio, etc.

The reds have systematically infiltrated the state and its local politics for decades to the point that they now have their best comrade in the U.S. Congress.

Once you get a red in Congress, it is nearly impossible to get them out. It took the people of California 36 years to get rid of rich-red Pete “I’m stark raving mad” Stark.

John Conyers is still around since the 1960’s, and he’s the reddest of the red. Charlie Rangel isn’t much better, and he’s a tax-cheat (oh, I forget about Geithner).

I think you get my point. Some Red States actually have REDS running them.

Stark lost and that's good. Unfortunately, he lost to another Rat. As bad as Stark was, his voting record was one of the worse in congress. This new guy will probably vote, and thereby do more damage.

For the record: In 2—6, Kyrsten Sinema accused stay at home moms of ‘leeching off their husbands and boyfriends. They just stay at home and cash the checks, like they are some sort of feminist.......that’s bul****t. I mean what the f*** are we talking about here’. (Yep, she said it!) And this woman was elected to the House? The fix was in here, too!
