Campaign Sources: The Romney Campaign was a Consultant Con Job

If you spend your time watching politics and haven’t been hiding in a deep depression since Tuesday, you’ve probably been hearing a lot about “ORCA.” According to the Washington Post, ORCA “was designed as a first-of-its-kind tool to employ smartphones to mobilize voters, allowing them to microtarget which of their supporters had gone to the polls.”

There is now widespread condemnation of the program as being sloppy and poorly deployed.

I heard him in the car. He was on fire. Tearing everyone apart. Great radio. I know he used to be for Carter, but some 2016 hopeful should look into hiring him or at least “consulting” with him..

Republicans are too busy paying taxes.

a lot of that is just wanting to keep morale up on our side. If someone like Morris or Rove comes out and says Romney’s going to lose, that causes a lot of folks to stay home or get demoralized.

The dems do the same thing. Look at 2010 when people like Pelosi and Bill Clinton and flacks like Carville and Begala were talking about the dems would hold the House. they knew what was going to happen, but were playing their part.

The Democrats have a pretty good intelligence gathering service. Post office workers?

A week before the election, Dick Morris was predicting a Romney landslide. I’m not saying that disqualifies him from ever working in a GOP campaign, but it does make me wonder just how much “talent” a lot of these people really have.

Given that voters are not soldiers in a military campaign and can't be dragooned into voting, it's essential that they be made to think that their candidate has a chance of winning. If they think disaster is inevitable, they won't take an hour or hours from their daily lives to drive to the polling station, get in line and vote. Negativity can turn a defeat into super-majorities for the other side. Also, who's going to contribute funds to a campaign he thinks is likely to lose - money he could hang on to for things like Christmas presents and steak dinners? Negativity becomes self-fulfilling prophecy.

Who in this country didn’t know that Nov. 6th was election day? Many states had early voting as well. This is just a stupid excuse.

What we're up against...

The Dem GOTV is well organized, aggressive and unfettered by the rule book. They know their voters' names, addresses and whether they have voted or not. With early voting, volunteers will call, drive to people's houses and drag them to the polling booth. And if no ID is required, and they have a registered voter who hasn't voted, they'll use a warm body. Our competitor is Chicago Boss Daley quality voter corruption...gone national.

Karl Rove- the architect of Defeat.
After not supporting Conservative candidates who defeated moderates in the primaries, Karl Rove deserves having his career done in.

No this story probably isn’t sour grapes but the truth! Sarah Palin said basically the same thing earlier this year about her experience with consultants and advisors from the 2008 campaign -— that many of them are just mercenaries for hire who have no loyalty and are looking pretty much for the next gravy train ...ie ‘money’

Possibly true...but it’s way too late for excuses no matter how true they are.

We need to move on and up and remember especially our conservative roots or we’re bound to repeat this.

Over...and over......

Pat Caddell IS a Dem. operative..so why do we care what he thinks of the GOP campaign? He is not going to say or do anything to help pick up the pieces.

Romney was an idiot. It’s Democrats who are masters of vote fraud who use things like ORCA. They use it to track who hasn’t voted and then call to have someone come in and vote in their name. It’s not rocket science.

“GOP voters should not have to be contacted to vote PERIOD”

Exactly! Every time I read about the election loss being the fault of a failed ORCA I can’t imagine what they are actually talking about. They are going to go out and drag people who live under a rock and don’t know it’s election day to the polls? Fact is, a lot of potential R voters chose not to vote. PERIOD. Romney wasn’t conservative enough, he’s a Mormon .... lots of excuses to reelect Obama.

That said, at our polling place, during the early hours on Tuesday there were no less than four Dem poll watchers checking off their targeted voters. Nary a Repub. (it’s a deep blue precinct).

One funny, darling story, was a voter, 85 years old who told me he’d never voted before in his life! He’d spoiled his paper ballot and had to wait a while for the elections chief to get to him with a replacement ballot .. no problem! He was happy to wait so he could vote for “Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann.”

So, is there a way to back-track that, and have non-RAT voters testify that they didn't actually vote?

Karl Rove has never supported a conservative in his life.
I remember his brutal attack on Christine O’Donnell...

I’ve met him and was not impressed...disheveled and distracted..bland speech.

Dick Morris predicted a landslide for Romney,,,which might be part of the reason he lost, if it inclined people to stay home and be complacent.

And yes, I do know that if I go to “Dickmorris.com”, I will find er..something. But it won’t be anything other than self serving promotion.

I think I heard Ed Rollins talk about the Reagan campaign. If he was responsible for it, maybe they should bring him back too.

Also, Newt orchastrated the takeover of Congress, so bring him along to.

Start now.

It’s a different country than in Reagan’s time, I don’t think the same playbook works today.
