Campaign Sources: The Romney Campaign was a Consultant Con Job
Red State ^ | November 9, 2012 | Ben Howe

If you spend your time watching politics and haven’t been hiding in a deep depression since Tuesday, you’ve probably been hearing a lot about “ORCA.” According to the Washington Post, ORCA “was designed as a first-of-its-kind tool to employ smartphones to mobilize voters, allowing them to microtarget which of their supporters had gone to the polls.”

There is now widespread condemnation of the program as being sloppy and poorly deployed.

No wonder Romney was blindsided. It sounds as though these consultants were intent on riding the gravy train of donations coming in by projecting the rosiest of scenarios. They had no real loyalty or attachment to Romney. This is horrible. Think of all the people who donated whatever they could...and it was squandered in this way?

What's worse, Romney's whole persona was predicated on managerial competence and yet these self-promoting hucksters are given positions of power and authority within the campaign? And worst of all, they were all demonstrably incompetent. I am sick at heart reading these accounts. What a disaster.

Why are the complaining about the app when they SHOULD be screaming about the fraud?

A week before the election, Dick Morris was predicting a Romney landslide. I’m not saying that disqualifies him from ever working in a GOP campaign, but it does make me wonder just how much “talent” a lot of these people really have.

We’ve all been hearing about ORCA for two days now. At least this article names names, making it worthy of consideration I think.

I'm with you, GOP voters shouldn't have to be contacted on election day to vote! (I also said this in another thread)

With that being said, I wasn't able to vote until nearly 8:00. I had 6 messages on my iPhone telling me to get out there and vote Romney/Ryan. The first one was a general reminder “today is election day, please vote for Romney/Ryan.” The next few were “get out and vote!” The last few were “you still have time to vote.” So some how I was getting contacted.

He said pretty openly that this campaign was little more than an opportunity for GOP "strategists" and "consultants"

I wonder how many of those "strategists" and "consultants" are actually Democrats?

Dick Morris is wrong so often on his predictions, you can almost take the opposite of whatever he’s predicting to be what will really happen.

Cadell is a good man.

He’s right about these political animals that dwell on both sides of the aisle yet have no honest loyalty to anyone. You either hire them or be destroyed by them. In many cases they destroy the candidate they’re working for as soon as a better deal comes along.

Actually, that’s one of the things that makes Obama a bit different. His political handlers aren’t the old democrat standards, his have real loyalty, if not to him, to the marxist ideal. It makes them a more dangerous breed.

Do a google search of Dick Morris and Raila Odinga (Obama’s cousin.) Sorry to disagree but this toesucker never gets trust again as far as I am concerned. He ran Odinga’s campaign in Africa, according to news reports and did it with Clinton’s playbook. Leopards don’t change their spots. I won’t lap up polling data from this troll again. Research it for yourself.

Ain’t that the truth. Can we PLEASE not get fooled by the jacka$$ pundits and conspiracy theorists again? If we do, we will have this conversation EVERY 2 years until we are extinct.

I hope Rove simply goes away. I am sick of him and the Bushies. Sick of the entire mess. I am ready for a new party. The Conservative Patriot’s Party.

It sounds as though these consultants were intent on riding the gravy train of donations coming in by projecting the rosiest of scenarios.

Just a few weeks ago I said Romney needs to lose the yes men and start listening to the conservatives who don't like him much. Its always better to hear honest criticism than happy best case scenarios.

This is like telling the skipper of the Titanic "Tis but an ice cube".

Now Obama was giving away cellphones to his supporters, particularly in Ohio, so Romney's staff decided to give away cellphones to their friends?

Now that's symmetry!

He pounded the “Demographic is destiny” theme to smithereens, too. Whatever Republican buys into that ought to be driven out to pasture in a hurry. This obviously was the community organizer election. Voting precincts 10,000 to 0 obviously takes the skill of a real palm greaser like Obama. And everybody said his “real world experience” amounted to nothing. Meanwhile, I was looking forward to authentic competence from Romney-Ryan and they turn out to be rank amateurs before they ever get to the gates of the White House.

I didn’t receive one Democrat phone call, e-mail or campaign mailing. How did they know to not waste any time or money on me? The Republicans sent me lots of e-mails and brochures. I received lots of Republican phone calls. The Democrats have a pretty good intelligence gathering service. Post office workers?
