Airport screeners ratify first-ever union contract with TSA
The Star-Ledger ^ | November 09, 2012 | Steve Strunsky

The nation’s 44,000 newly unionized airport screeners have ratified their first-ever collective bargaining agreement, giving them more say in what they wear on the job, the shifts they work and the time off they take, whether they can change from part-time to full-time work or back, their union announced today.

The American Federation of Government Employees union, which won the right to represent the screeners in an election last year, said its members voted 17,326 to 1,774 in favor of ratifying the first labor deal struck with the Transportation Security Administration since the agency was founded 10 years ago in the wake of 9/11.

...

In a side agreement that was not part of the agreement ratified today, management and labor also agreed that, effective Nov. 1, employees would be entitled to third-party arbitration in disputed disciplinary cases.

Part of communists King Obama’s army. By the way I will bet you soon they will have guns, live hollow point ammo, and arrest without cause.

By rights, our airports should be ghost-towns.

As long as people play along, the airports will continue to devolve.

One of the many blessings of President Bush, the TSA.

Another destructive Republican ‘plan’ that we’ll deal with for decades.

I hear ya, but I’m not sure I buy in completely.

Those plagues were Egypt centric, and the Bushes have joined forces though design or ineptness, to bring a blight upon the planet.

No offense to God here, but wow the magnitude of what this family has helped bring upon us.

And now Jeb and a younger Bush are making plans for 2014 and 2016. Lord have mercy...

Apparently the part of the creation of the TSA that says that it cannot be unionized went the way of “we only want abortion to be available and legal in the first trimester.”

“Another destructive Republican ‘plan’ that we’ll deal with for decades.”

Agreed. The EPA, Nixon’s creation by executive order, came to mind when reading that statement.

Yes, as well it should. This is one idea the Left never criticizes him for. It’s the one they should the most.

Do TSAs in a right to work state have to join the union because they are federal employees?

Good. Let them strike and shut down a whole industry. This will expedite the inevitable crash of the US.

“we only want abortion to be available and legal in the first trimester.”

Or...

We only want to ban smoking in restaurants.
You will only receive a warning ticket for not wearing a seat belt.
We only want to register guns because...

And on and on and on.

I saw that. Can’t wait for them to strike. Perhaps that will awaken the Rumpelstiltskins out there.

Yeah, and let’s see Obama forced into doing a Reagan on them, like the air traffic controllers... without these idiots they won’t let the airports operate so it ought to get interesting real fast.

Heh, heh, heh...

There you go. Wouldn’t that be a hoot.

Hell, he’d executive order their demands into law at a moment’s notice, so that wouldn’t go anywhere.

The contract specified that they can grope no more than 20 passengers in a given hour.
