Petreus was being blackmailed into silence. The question I have is who set him up with the woman? Do you think that this was a simple inner-office affair or did someone dangle an attractive beauty in front of an old man and wait for him to take the bait? Petreus is far from the first older man to fall in the face of temptation, but someone who wanted leverage over him could have easily set him up.

Sounds like from his resignation letter, he is going to keep covering up for the Obama admin.

I think he was part of the cover up. He didn't have the guts to stand up to Obama and his cronies. The CIA head told the men to stand down. Petraeus already lied to Congress and said it was the video. He went along with the stupid story concocted by Obama’s top officials that night

He's getting out to save his own skin.
