2016 election: Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush?
Politico ^ | Nov 9 2012 | Jonathan Martin and Maggie Haberman

American politics may be headed back to the future. Four years after the country elected a 40-something African-American newcomer named Barack to the presidency, a more familiar political order is poised to reassert itself: the House of Clinton representing Democrats and the House of Bush atop the GOP.

The restoration of either is no sure thing, but what’s certain is that Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush loom the largest over their respective parties as the long road toward 2016 begins. Any other would-be presidential candidate will first take a long look toward Chappaqua and Miami before moving forward.

I am astonished that in this nation, some 300 million strong, this is the “best” we could come up with. If turnout was bad trying to beat back Obama with a Mitt ticket, it’s going to be beyond pathetic if there’s another Bush and Clinton running.

I'm sure the rats will come out in force - cup in hand for more cheese.

The nation is dyeing before my very eyes, but it's been doing that all my life, so maybe we are just destined to the ashes like all those that have come before us (eg. Rome).

That would be the final nail in the coffin.

The final nail is already in the coffin. The casket is being lowered into the ground and the fiscal cliff is the dirt. 2016, that will bring the headstone….

I liked both Daddy Bush, and George W....personally. But the greatest presidents they did not make.

When it comes to Jeb, that's another story. I can never forgive his refusal to step in and save Terri Schiavo. That will be his downfall.

The GOPe needs to stand down, the candidates they give us cannot win. They are too milquetoast and beholding to the party to actually fight for a win.

Personally, after the debacle we just witnessed, I don't think we'll ever have another Republican president...at least not in my lifetime.

Why don’t we just say it now: President Hillary Rodham Clinton.

And of course, the GOP will once again conclude that Jeb just wasn’t liberal enough.

“2016 election: Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush?”

Nope.

Michelle Obama vs. Chris Christie.

I’ll sit that one out.
