The first problem with the article is calling Charles Krauthammer a conservative.
Krauthammer can only be percieved a conservative by a someone like Obama with a Marxist worldview.

Mark Levin’s position on amnesty is sound as it always has been but the GOP and Romney had NO strategy to court Hispanic votes, as challenging as that would be this time around. And Romney is certainly not able to convert many voters to R.

For years now the Dems on the Dem channel been showing the electoral map and how it soon will not be possible to win the WH at all without Hispanic voters, cheering it on.
The GOP needs to try to understand these people and find things they want that Dems can’t offer them that they can, at least to fracture the group. Yes I know that is difficult. And at least try to get some of them to not vote.
The economy completely tanking under O would give an huge opening.

The election was the result of one thing, freebies and Romney didn’t offer enough to these people.
Let’s see, over 80% currently vote for Democrats. Is Krauthammer under the delusion that the additional 30 million won’t do the same and will switch to Republicans?
Hispanics won’t vote GOP unless they’re given freebies or have candidates that speak Spanish (GWB).

Laura had a couple of Hispanic leaders on the BOR show who absolutely agreed with Levin’s point. They were adamant that Hispanics want to become solid middleclass ordinary Americans, that’s why they come here, legally and otherwise. Pandering on the immigration issue will not gain their votes and in fact will drive them away.
What the hell is Kraut thinking? This is Democrat-logic...dividing people into categories and offering “stuff” to them in exchange for their votes.
Our way is to explain the benefits of liberty, the opportunities provided only by capitalism, and the values that made America the place everyone wants to come to.
THAT is what the Republicans need to do. They know it and to some extent even believe it - they just don’t DO it very well. Go watch some Reagan video - he didn’t pander to anyone but he painted the vision of greatness for everyone.

Both of their campaigns were looking at the polling and instead of investigating the reasoning and gearing the campaigns towards correcting their findings or a least investigating them . Dismissed them.

I really don’t think most illegals want or care to be citizens. They don’t want to pay taxes, but they do want to vote for the bennies and not get kicked out. They want to roam freely back and forth over the border.
