Wall Street gadfly Warren stands good chance of Senate banking seat

(Reuters) - The chances are good, but not guaranteed, that Elizabeth Warren will secure a highly coveted seat on the Senate Banking Committee, a move that would dramatically elevate her campaign against Wall Street excess.

Senior Senate Democratic aides, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Massachusetts senator-elect is a logical fit for the committee, even though it is rare for a freshman senator to get such a plum assignment.

If she gets the slot, Warren's bully pulpit would be replaced with real power.

The bipartisan panel can greatly influence policy decisions through its oversight of financial services, international trade, insurance, housing, securities and economic issues.

Warren, who has called for breaking up the big banks, could move to block legislative tweaks to the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial oversight law that would blunt the full impact of profit-pummeling reforms.

Senator elect Warren held a press availability today w/ Gov. Deval patrick,

She can’t answer simple questions from Boston area reporters.
Deval patrick stepped in and helped her out. She doesn’t realize that
this is part of her job. Answering questions.

She’s never held elective office.

She’s not ready for prime time. She is going to implode on herself.

Well, it couldn’t happen to a better person.

Say what you will with Senator Lindsey Graham, he has good communication
skills.

Good. Let money managers get full-bore Marxism. Perhaps they will get off their asses and bring back the constitution and capitalism.

She can’t do any worse than Barney the Fag tubular Frank with man boobs whose live in boyfriend back in the early 80’s before he came out was running a homo sex parade from his house and claimed to not know a thing about it. Bastard progressives get away with so much sh!t.

She must have gotten special consideration for the seat based on affirmative action.

Absolutely wonderful idea!

That would bring the edge of the financial cliff that much closer.

Can’t wait for it to happen.

yes, please bring the pain to Wall Street. They deserve some for holding off on all the bad news till after the election.

As a disclaimer, I work for a listed company and the Salary staff just got the news today that our pension is being stopped and next year our old PPO plan goes away. New plan $1300 yearly deductible before ANY benefits are paid.

“The Boston Herald reported on her pathetic 1st press conference after the election.”

It truly was pathetic.

She’s one of those positively annoying people that you’d just love to back hand and tell to STFU.
