3. Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz, one of the conservative movement’s brightest rising stars, overcame establishment GOP opposition to clinch a U.S. Senate victory in Texas.
4. Corruptocrat Beltway barnacle Rep. Pete Stark was finally kicked out of office in California.
5. Despite entrenched teachers’ union opposition, a charter school initiative in Washington state triumphed.
6. Despite entrenched Big Labor support, a radical collective bargaining power grab in Michigan failed.
7. Oklahoma voters said no to government race-based preferences in college admissions, public contracting, and government hiring.
8. Montana voters said no to boundless benefits for illegal aliens.
9. Washington state approved taxpayer-empowering limitations on its state legislature’s ability to raise taxes.
10. For the first time since Reconstruction, the GOP won control of the Arkansas state house.
11. Voters rejected tax hike ballot measures in Arizona, South Dakota, and Missouri.
12. Louisiana voted to protect gun rights.
13. Kentucky voted to protect hunting and fishing rights.
14. Parental notification for minors’ abortion prevailed in Montana.
15. North Carolina Republicans claimed the governor’s office, congressional gains, and control of the state’s general assembly.
16. Paul Ryan will return to Congress after winning re-election and continue to carry the torch for entitlement reform and budget discipline.
17. Conservatives won big victories in the Kansas state legislature.
18. Republicans won historic supermajorities in Tennessee.
19.Across the country, Republicans reached a post-2000 record number of gubernatorial victories.
20. Conservatives who were devastated by the national election results demonstrated how to lose with dignity and grace. There will be finger-pointing and recriminations and soul-searching, but committed activists can’t and won’t lose heart. We’ll regroup, recover, and keep fighting for our country.

21. Wisconsin: GOP wins back control of state government.
I’d be curious about how many GOP majorities there are in state legislatures these days. Michigan, Indiana, and Arkansas are 3 I know of but there are several more.
Now imagine what the US Senate would look like if it weren’t for the 17th amendment. Every one of those states would have 2 GOP senators.
Obama got less votes than Debbie Stabenow in Michigan.
Stabenow - 2,731,095 Hoekstra - 1,764,109
Obama - 2,560,016 Romney - 2,111,141
I can’t help but take some perverse pleasure in that.
Just to add since this article is a day old, today it was finally confirmed in Arkansas that Republicans have taken over both houses of the state legislature, only the senate had been confirmed by yesterday due to malfunctioning software. Plus the way Arkansas has gone solidly Republican since the Kenyan took office, we will have an easy pickup in the national Senate when Pryor comes up for reelection in 2014.
this is like 1936, after fdr took a terrible situation and made it much worse, he won 4 straight elections
it seems to me, that doom and gloom is the new optimism.
Wisconsin regained GOP control of the state senate and even gained a seat in the Assembly. On the agenda for next term are more election reforms, change of venue for lawsuits against state government, and even discussions of possible tax cuts.
Another small silver lining - Barney Frank is no longer in Congress, though too bad it wasn’t because of electoral defeat.

“...And where did Marco Rubio, now hailed by the Republican establishment as a 2016 favorite, come from? Not from the RINO establishment. It backed Charlie “Tan-in-a-Can” Crist and fought Rubio tooth and nail. It was the Tea Party and Constitutional Conservative movement that gave birth to Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, etc.
There are flawed candidates, to be sure, among those backed by the conservative wing of the Republican Party. RINOs point to Sharon Angle and Richard Mourdock, for example, forgetting that no one wins 100 percent of their slate. Until the afternoon of election day, when the unions started busing in voters from places unknown, Angle was in fact leading Harry Reid handily.
And one inappropriate and/or misconstrued remark by Mourdock (and a crackpot third-party candidate) helped cook his campaign.
It’s not the conservatives who need to go away. It’s the RINO establishment that should make themselves scarce. Once again, a mushy centrist — who supposedly would appeal to wide swaths of the electorate — lost in a race that should have been a slamdunk.
And in this existential showdown between liberty and tyranny, Mitt Romney could not even attract the same number of voters as... John McCain. Constitutional conservatives, Tea Party conservatives, and fiscal conservatives don’t need to retreat. The RINO country club set needs to cede control to the true heart of the party.”

A constitutional amendment was passed here in Georgia, which was opposed by some entrenched local school interests, that allows entities to go to the state government to obtain charters for schools if local school boards refuse to allow a school to be chartered.

Republicans will have a super majority in the Georgia Senate when an independent Senator goes GOP.

At least Roraback (RINO-CT) lost to a real Dem in the CT-5th. Maybe not good news, but CT GOP needs to rebuild...
I hate to be the you-know-what in the punch bowl, but unions, environuts, and gun grabbers are going to have a lot more power not. Unions managed to defeat an important measure in CA that would have limited their ability to force union members to pay for their political activities. All these groups want their payback now, and already, unions are talking about reviving card check. Environuts are going to destroy the coal industry and try to stop the Keystone Pipeline, and Obama has expressed support for the UN gun treaty. These are dangerous times.
Oops, I mean they will have a lot more power now. Bad typing.

2X. Voters in the Commonwealth of Virginia overwhelmingly approved a Constitutional amendment to limit Eminent Domain.
Proud of my state. Tennessee! Pretty much a Republican sweep.
