Skip to comments.Analysis: Victory puts Obama in position to expand government's reach

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Both sides called it a generation-defining race for the White House: a choice between Democrat Barack Obama's brand of government activism and Republican Mitt Romney's commitment to reducing Washington's role in Americans' daily lives.
Obama's victory, however, did not settle that question.
Instead, the hard-fought battle for the White House exposed an electorate deeply divided by race, age and party.
Tuesday's elections - in which Republicans kept control of the U.S. House and Obama's Democrats held on to the Senate - suggested that bitter partisanship would likely remain very much alive in Washington in the new year. They also revealed that there was no broad mandate for much beyond the broadly shared goals of improving the economy and reducing government debt.
That means that undertaking bold new initiatives comparable to healthcare reform, financial regulation and economic stimulus programs will be a great deal more complicated for Obama 2012 than they were for Obama 2008.

The tyrant may be able to tighten his grip!
This could be the crisis. Abe will explain from "the other side."
You initiated a policy to tolerate the Marxist-Alinsky radicals and let them rant; not only has it not ceased but was constantly augmented by decades of infiltration and indoctrination. You now have two Americas. In my opinion, it will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half statist and half free; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.
Obama is a biological-ideological issue of the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats.
How many debate questions explicitly asked the Obama to defend his agenda of expanding the powers (and cost) of government?
Give the author first prize in the ‘No Sh*t Sherlock!’ category of on-line commentary.
A good friend who is Russian told me the Bolsheviks were promised the same for thier support and allegiance....they all met daily in the gulag. We are not be surprised they definitely will be, ha ha ha ha ha

No it doesn’t. The constitution is still the law of the land. Can’t wait until this Marxist idiot is locked up.
How many debate questions asked anything about Obama’s second term agenda?
How many debate questions asked (knocked) Romney for more “specifics” about his plan, over and over again?
> ...government’s reach

We can be forgiven for wondering the assholes at Yahoo! News and the MSM in general why they didn’t press Obama for details on his second term BEFORE he was re-elected.
I hope he does. I hope he ends up with an economic death grip. It’s the only some will learn.
Jim, for that to hold true, we must have men who will defend our law. For the past four years we have watched this man defy our constitution regarding the Senate 'advice and consent' powers and Congressional authority to declare wars. We have watched him ignore DOMA and recast our immigration laws vis-à-vis imperial edict. His cabinet members openly defy Congressional subpena's without consequence, and the various Executive Departments weave a maze of new administrative rulings which will have the effect of law. He openly attacks both the Supreme Court and Congress when they defy his authority - and he seems to 'win' every time.
Until somebody finds a way to stand up to him and face him down, the Constitution is merely a scrap of paper. This is the way Hitler and Chavez started; and Obama, like they, will not stop until someone makes him stop.
Gee - only the Constitution stands in his way.
Hint to Boehner: You can still impeach this guy. Even if the Senate does not remove him, he is neutered like Clinton was in 2nd term.
Obamanation Communism File.
If you reach your arm into the tiger’s cage too often, you might get it ripped off.
