Ron Paul: "Election shows U.S. 'far gone'"
Washington Times ^ | 11/8/2012 | Stephan Dinan

Posted on 11/08/2012 11:27:49 AM PST by GlockThe Vote

Rep. Ron Paul, whose maverick presidential bids shook the GOP, said in the wake of this week's elections that the country has already veered over the fiscal cliff and he sees no chance of righting ship in a country where too many people are dependent on government.

"We're so far gone. We're over the cliff," the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop" program. "We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things." The video can be seen at http://www.bloomberg.com/video/ron-paul-on-fiscal-cliff-and-vows-to-compromise-MYkAiqYBTaiHwXZL9Tvxkw.html.

You owe Glock an apology. He said right in his post that he voted for RR. Romney/Ryan.

Obama was ‘relected’ for many reasons, including the forced selection of the candidate Mitt Romney by a very very corrupt GOP leadership.

This leadership gave the people a choice between a socialist and a marxist. Both are communist systems, and are the reason why the polls always split 50/50 between the two people. It guaranteed that with a little effort, and the GOP knows this from the last 20 years of democrat party election fraud, that its easy enough to flip a few votes back to Obama and give him the lead. If you don’t think votes were flipped then search back on this forum you’ll see articles posted.

Take the blame where it should go. The republican party was taken over by democrats changing their affiliation to republican since the Clinton era where they did it wholesale. It is not a party of the republic, nor its citizens any more.

I think the power was shouting at Paul himself not me.

Either way people are really upset and I get it.

Personally I was pissed off that Romney did not adopt more of Paul’s positions on things like NDAA, real spending cuts, inflation, etc.

The problem is that Romney really didnt set a line in the sand like Paul would or could have.

I know tons of paulbots who were pissed off and stayed home because they sensed there was little difference between obama/romney on NDAA, war on drugs, spending, obamacare, etc etc.

Of course I voted for romney, but i think Paul would have done better getting young people out to vote for him.

They want the Fed to keep printing the money. And they don't believe that we've gone off the cliff or are close to going off the cliff.

That's the classic definition of how democracies fail - when the voters realize that they can vote money from the public treasury to themselves. When you have majority of such voters the democracy turns into a feeding frenzy of hyenas around the not yet dead body of the republic. Those of us who still have hopes are writhing with pain as lifeblood is sucked out of our businesses; but we cannot do anything. The Lumpenproletariat tasted our blood and he liked it. He is coming for more.

This is not an accident; it could happen only after decades of careful nurturing of the bottom feeders, of the lazy, of the welfare queens, of the ignorant, and of the stupid. It could never happen in a society that forces an able man to work or to die. Obama's siren call to join his social assistance programs is just the latest illustration. Once you have the critical mass, the man who controls the free food also controls the country.

As I said yesterday, conservatives (Ron Paul and others) are retiring or dying from old age. They are not being replaced because the younger generation is entirely brainwashed, if not already dependent on the government. The GOP will move to the left accordingly, just like it did in this election, to track the sentiments of an average voter. Make no mistake, today's political parties are not fighting for an idea - they are only fighting for power. True conservatives are seen as crazy (and Ron Paul is an illustration of that, when he is not actually crazy :-) This makes it impossible to elect a conservative leader - not today, and not in the future. Not until the voters' addiction to the government's food and care is broken. This can happen only after the government has no food to give out. Then the government falls; it's anyone's guess who will gain power at that point. It won't be pretty because the masses will be running around with torches and pitchforks, looking for someone who *will* give them free food that they require for survival. (Note that many of them cannot work at all, being illiterate and uneducated. Plenty of today's ghetto dwellers are already like that.) If you ask me, at that point half of the country will be facing an extinction event. Only foreign help - which always comes with strings attached - can save them.

I did the same. I think we have been too far gone for some time, we just feel like we have confirmation of it now.

Another thought —it was more important to shut the Ron Paul people out of the process and appeal to some idiot demographic that regarded the hurricane as a major factor in their vote decision that they didn’t come to until the very last minute. Didn’t turn out too well — maybe we should try and embrace those that we can from that demographic. They aren’t a monolithic movement

I live in NYC and am 37 years old self employed white guy. Trust me, i know.

I think we are finished TBH. I look around, see the crap people post on FB, see what walks around in the streets, etc.

I ask myself - “is this a population of people who prefer freedom or slavery?”

The answer is easy.

Sarah Palin warned the GOP how many times to not shut Ron Paul out?

Palin and many others WARNED WARNED WARNED the Gop that disaster awaited if they shut out the Ron Paul demographic and some of his issues.

Guess what? Palin was right. Where was Romney on the NDAA? War on Drugs? Police State? Etc?

Answer - nowhere. Romney was the same as Obama on those things and the treatment of Paul at the convention made a few million paul voters to stay home.

Not me, I voted for RR.

However, if the GOP does not start adopting a more “PRO FREEDOM” agenda - we are finished.

This thread shows WHY “we” lost the election...
America is on a commuter train to “GREECE”...
Through Spain.. with stops in France.. to pick up more morons..

continuing thru Switzerland to see what intelligent people “used” to look like.. on by Austria to get an additional dose of apathy.. before arriving at idiot central.. in Greece..

It may be too late.

If we're where CA was in the mid-90s, it *is* too late.

Terrific! Another treasonous coward heard from.

If the Republican Party had nominated Ron Paul instead of Mitt Romney, at least a few percent of Obama voters would have voted for Paul instead, and Paul would have won.

You are stoned. Paul had been running for decades and has never been more than a distraction.
