I would ditch cable but I like watching sports. There are zero sports broadcasts for me without it. If someone knows an end-around on that I’m all ears.
If the govt wants to deal with a failing economy, and want to increase consumer spending, they’ll have to work on the consumers in the “99%” taker crowd. This “1%’er” producer will be cutting back to make ends meet.
I told my wife that our planned vacation next year to Europe was off the table.
Those in travel and entertainment industry will particularly suffer unless they cater to government employees.
BTW, watch that happen in earnest.......

We simply go to the Drug Store or whereever, hubby picks out 1, brings it to me, I read it, THEN PUT IT BACK on the shelf. Sometimes I get 2 or 3 cards that way. ROFL.

I worked for that company, it is the most horrendous place I have ever worked, trust me the on-air personalities of MSNBC are reflective of their companies leadership, canceling Comcast was the right thing, they literally screw their customers, besides they are like GE with regards to ODumba.

Well, cut back to steaming only. And hopefully, if enough people cancel satellite like I’ve been considering (Costco as well), they will get a whiff and change their ways before it’s too late.

I think you started a very useful thread. I also think it should be kept alive or another Going Galt type thread needs to be started, where folks can add their cuts, their savings/advantages and ideas.

It is roughly $0.12 per month per channel. I saw this figure in a recent story about Algore's Stalinist propaganda channel, Current TV, which they are now trying to sell. Current TV goes into 60 million homes and has annual revenues from their cable and satellite royalties of $86 million. That is $0.12 per subscriber per month. So, you are offering that "pinch of incense" of $0.12 per month (at minimum) for every channel that is included in your cable or satellite package, including the sodomite channel, including MTV, including MSNBC, whether you watch it or not, and even if you block it on your cable box. Your money is still going to these outfits every month, and in doing so you proclaim that "caesar is lord". St. Polycarp, pray for us.
If you are looking for Fox News on your computer, try www.TVPC.com and look at the channel list for the US. There are usually 4-5 links. Not all of them work all the time and some of them will throw an ad at you at odd times. Be sure you have a malware detector in place first. Ditto ESPN, CNN (ugh) and a slew of other channels.

I get Comcast TV to see Fox News mostly. Now the election is over I don’t care so much about dropping cable television and probably will right after Christmas season. Same as I really like Sean Hannity on FoxNews leading up to this election and previous elections. You really get Prime Time Sean. But post election, especially this one, I have to slack off politics for a while
Same with Rush Limbaugh. After any election my listening decreases
