2016 election: Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush?
Politico ^ | November 8, 2012 | JONATHAN MARTIN and MAGGIE HABERMAN

BOSTON — American politics may be headed back to the future.

Four years after the country elected a 40-something African-American newcomer named Barack to the presidency, a more familiar political order is poised to reassert itself: the House of Clinton representing Democrats and the House of Bush atop the GOP.

The restoration of either is no sure thing, but what’s certain is that Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush loom the largest over their respective parties as the long road toward 2016 begins. Any other would-be presidential candidate will first take a long look toward Chappaqua and Miami before moving forward.

Clinton, particularly, freezes her party’s 2016 nomination process starting at this moment. After barely falling short in 2008 and earning high marks and soaring approval ratings in four years as America’s top diplomat, she unambiguously has the strongest claim on being the next Democratic standard-bearer. If, and it is a big unknown, she wants another shot at the presidency.

Bush, were he to run, most likely wouldn’t clear the field in the way Clinton could. But his gravitas, fundraising capability, Florida roots and entree to Hispanics makes him the most formidable Republican on a sparkling roster of potential 2016 contenders.

Jeb Bush will cross the finish line. At that point, the Tea Party will have to decide whether to go third party or do what they did this year

That decision will have to be made in the next 90 days.

If the Tea Party, and those sympathetic to its mission, really want to have a viable candidate for the GOP primaries, they need to create some sort of primary-type vetting prior to the GOP primaries.

By the time the GOP primary begins, the TEA Party needs to have already weeded out the conservative field to one primary TEA party candidate, with united conservative backing to fend off the usual Bush/Dole/Bush/McCain/Romney/Bush candidate.

If that's going to happen, they need to do it NOW!

Wait for the House GOP elections, and the first 30 days of the next session. If Paul Ryan is not elected Speaker or if they mark up a tax bill, it will be time.

2016 election: Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush?

ROFLMAO!

Okay, the nomination of yet another Bush will pretty well cement what I've been thinking for years.

Win or lose, the GOPe is ALWAYS reaching across the isle, which basically is Establishment Republicanese for giving the 'reach around' to the American people.

If they don't stay OUTTA DA BUSHES, they pretty much guarantee the birth of a third party....and it will be their OWN doing!

Doesn't that imply that there is an election. Be it a 0 dictatorship or economic collapse I do not have a high confidence in the country making it that far.

I expect calls to repeal the 22 amendment to start picking up steam.

Immigration reform and a hispanic on the ticket will not attract hispanic voters. The non-Cuban hispanics came to america with they ideas of socialism and social justice imbedded in them. They want socialism..just like they keep voting for in Latin America even though it keeps them all in poverty.

It’ll be between the Hilderbeast and the Wookie-beast. No white males need apply. And don’t think the Wookie-beast wants to leave our White House.

And the Repubs will run a dream ticket of Jeb Bush/Romney or maybe Romney/McCain. Of course, if Chris Kristie-Kreme is still around, he could fit on a good solid Establishment Repub ticket.

This is one issue where I agree with the gays — no more Bush, ever.

The Bushes have been in charge of the Republican Party for a big chunk of my adult life and its been a story of decline. They need to go away.

Rubio would bring up the natural born issue again, his parents weren’t citizens when he was born.

Cuomo v. Rubio.

Rubio -- the hero of a comprehensive INA overhaul bill -- taps Gov. Krispy Kreme and wins. Barely.
