DEMOCRATS MAY NAB SUPERMAJORITY (California)
San Diego Union Tribune ^ | 11-08-2012 | Michael Gardner

California voters may have just handed Democrats unbridled control over taxes as well as policy, but party leaders from Gov. Jerry Brown on down immediately pledged to exercise restraint.

Although final tallies are not official, it appears Democrats will hold at least a two-thirds supermajority in both the Assembly and Senate.

That gives them the ability to pass taxes and fees, and place initiatives — such as same-sex marriage and bonds — on the ballot without securing a single Republican vote.

This is scary. Everyone presumes that California will implode and provide a demonstrable example to the rest of the country to ‘change ways’.

I see this entirely different.

I see it much the same way I see the ‘national’ results from Tuesday. I see it as a much ‘deeper’ sickness that’s overcoming the country.

The ‘national sickness’ is a cancer, where the “47%” bad cells are now multiplying at a greater rate and overtaking the majority of the ‘good’ cells thereby yielding and promoting a toxic ruling class that is suffocating everyone.

This is not good.

It’s probably for the best. California is crashing. Better that it happen sooner, rather than later. A reset is coming all over the nation and giving the dems control is the best way to achieve that.

Sometimes the only way to change people’s minds is to let them hit rock bottom. The people of California, Illinois, and New York have allowed libs to run amok in their state governments and now they are going to learn a hard lesson and pay a severe price for their stupidity.

Buddy of mine down the road has a military pension, a cop's pension, and a teacher's pension.

In addition to his big house in Santa Cruz County with half a dozen cars and as many trucks, mobile home, tractors, and machine tools, he has a big place in Tahoe. Oh, did I mention that is wife is a retired CPS bureaucrat?

Anyone who believes that we might have won the presidential election by running a more conservative candidate just needs to look at California. There is no use in denying it, the demographics and politics of California are the future of America.

Propr 13 is in the cross hairs, of that you can be sure.

Imagine what will happen if the grifters in Sacramento have unlimited freedom to raise property taxes.

WHAT PRICE???

As long as the FED can print money with impunity, the EBT Cards will still work.

Maybe taxing the rich in to oblivion could help California?

Of course, they will exempt Hollywood, and Google Execs, and other Democrat-connected rich people, just like Illinois did.

But, don’t you DARE to call it fascism. That might be racist, or ‘phobic, or sumpin.

That’s the holy grail out here..i don’t think they’d be that stupid to touch it but probably commercial props. can’t remember where I read it but they might go after higher priced homes/higher income, not sure if had to do with Prop 13.

I was sitting out on my board at 41st ave in Santa Cruz a few months back having a nice conversation with a 54 year old retired gradeschool principle who collects a full salary while he surfs.

The lunatics, now firmly in charge of the asylum.

Naturally, the federal government will not allow a bankrupt California to crash and burn into anarchy. Unfortunately, this means our diminishing federal tax revenues will have yet another demand placed upon it. But what will the feds do? Will they cut federal departments or services to fund it, or will they borrow more money, or raise taxes? Good question.

If Calif indeed has a Dem supermajority, the slippery slope has just been greased with a fiscal version of STP motor oil. Super-greased. Poor buggers. Down they go....dragging us with them, kicking and screaming in a tangled mass of Mexicans, windmills and mag-lev trains.
