There are reasons to think it isn’t: Republicans have failed to win a plurality of voters (or a majority of the two-party vote) in four of the last five presidential elections. The single win was 2004, when George W. Bush was re-elected by the lowest margin of any successful incumbent since 1828. GOP talking points at the time touted Bush’s victory as a historic landslide because the map of sparsely populated counties he won (see above) covered almost the entire U.S. Therein lies a tale.
Yes it is. We get this crap every time the GOP loses. I wonder, how the hell did we make all those gains in 2010?

First this article was written before the election. Second, he agrees that the Republicans strength is local and regional. That makes them a power in off year elections.

BTW, the presidential strategy has been to meet the Democrats in terms of numbers of registered voters statewide AND then campaign for the non-existent undecided, moderate, middle ~ a tactic that merely suppresses the Republican vote.
The candidate must exhort his followers to come out and vote for him. When he wastes his time telling people who are not among his followers what a great deal he'll give them, he will lose!
The Democrats go for the big time ~ maximum turnout. It won for Obama twice, Clinton twice, LBJ once ~ and before that they thought of themselves as a party of ideas and ran a Conservative (Kennedy) and a Socialist egghead (Stevenson ~ 2 times in fact ~ how utterly stupid of them). Earlier, they didn't have those concerns ~ Hoover having been credited with trashing the economy, much as Obama is now being credited with trashing the economy.
I think we should go after the PAC NW Democrats for a mass conversion. That's one of those islands of Democrats. This would entail encouraging the Democrats to sponsor and pass a bill to equalize continental power assignment for hydropower systems! The purpose would be to backup Midwestern and Eastern power systems so that failure of windpower, or solar, would not result in disruption to industrial (read General Motors) operations. In reality this would kick power costs in the PAC NW right through the skylight and create recurring and serious interruptions ~ something ordinarily not encountered out there.
Drive those turkeys to the meat market and bring them out the other end all dressed up as new Republicans.
Well, I will get trounced for this but here goes.
1. The republican primary was right out of keystone cops. A total disorganized, amateur activity.
2. The dems drive the discussion and the repubs merely react. NO clear mission/vision/message other than they are against abortion, unless they are not.
3. Too much religion. I am not voting for a pope, I want a Kennedy/Reagan tough/compassionate candidate with a vision. I don’t care if he reads the bible, goes to church, or has 10 women on the side. That is between him and his spouse.
4. The party over controls the candidates, even withdraws support if they don’t toe the line.
5. The objective of the campaign was to beat BO, not to drive the country into a new direction.
Have some guts, stand for something, even if turns out to be wrong, at least we have a flag to hang our hat on.
don’t get the GOP confused with Conservatism they are not the same nor are the terms interchangeable.
The GOP is just the party Conservatives chose to be our vehicle to keep the progressives for power and reinstate Constitutional principals of a representative republic and reason back into our government

Agreed. But like you say, left to its own devices the GOP is nothing. We can bitch about GOP candidates, but we must also be involved in the primary. Convince fellow Republicans to support conservative candidates. They don’t get on the ballot by magic. We must also respect the decision of our fellows once the primary is over.
At all times, the enemy is the rats. They are the party of sodomites, child-killers, felons, rapists, etc. Unlike the rats, we must respect the democratic process.

Increasingly, the GOP has by default become the party of Euro-Americans. Romney carried the Euro-American vote in every single state but New England,Oregon, Washington and Iowa. Even NY’s +5 and California’s +10 Euro-Am vote went to Romney. Other Obama states: Maryland +12, Ohio +17 and PA +15,NJ +13 Mew Mex +16,Nevada +16, ILL +8, VA +23, Wis +4 and MIchigan +11.
If the demographics were that of the Reagan era, Romney, with those percentages of Euro-American support would have won over 400 electoral votes
The demograhics have changed and the influx of third world breeders demanding government handouts has increased to such levels that it has trumped the very principles this nation was grounded in.
The options are few. Either the GOP woo more blacks and Hispanics. ( Good luck with the monolithic black voting block) and Hispanics ( perhaps 10-15% of them can be persuaded) The other option is to work on the 39% of Euro-Americans that vote D in most elections.
But time is running out. The 73% of Euro-Americans which comprise the current electorate, will keep going down and the 27% other, which vote 80% leftwing year after year is going up.
You may think 2050 is a long ways away. Believe me, it is not. Every report I have read predicts that by 2050, Euro Americans will be a minority in a third world country. At that point, in order to survive as anything other than another Guatamala,the Euro-American would have to vote as a block nearly 90% in opposition, like the Blacks do today just to keep pace.
Look at Califiornia not Greece if you want to see the future. It has crazy left-winger Governor Moonbeam as governor and a veto proof leftwing super majority legislature for the first time in 80 years. It is deeply in debt and just voted in a ballot initiative to raise even more taxes to ‘educate/brainwash” minorities and forigners there illegally.

As far as I am concerned, the republican party is dead. I used to suppor them financially but no longer will I send them ANY money. They do NOT represent me so hence, no more funding, PERIOD.

the biggest problem with the GOP candidate was that he was milktost and weak kneed from the start, very few if any of us wanted to vote for him and many even predicted Obama would beat him - we were right.
if the GOP want to start winning again, put someone in we will actually WANT to vote FOR.
Instead, the GOP sticks peeps in there just to give us someone just to be the lesser of two evils - big difference
