Where my brother works, Food Lion in Maryland, they just cut everyone’s hours back to 30. That is so they do not have to offer health insurance. The other employees were all complaining, but had no clue why their hours were cut.

Sometimes the “school of hard knocks” is the only method of learning for stubborn ignorant people. It’s why the class colors are “black & blue!”

These layoffs are of no concern to the general population as long as they get free birth control.

“So, will this Friday’s jobs report show an “unexpected” rise in unemployment numbers to back above 8%?”

They will continue to fudge the numbers.

And they will blame the GOP for their hours getting cut.

People emote, they do not think.

There was some report blaming the rise a couple months ago on people seeking jobs.

Apparently if you give up you aren’t counted.

Kmart is closing its Durham store and laying off 79 people, the company has notified state officials. The store, which operated for nearly three decades is slated to close Jan. 20. Liquidation sales will get underway this weekend.

Sears capped off the holiday shopping season with the dispiriting announcement that it would have to close between 100 to 150 stores. A list of Sears and K-marts to be shuttered quickly followed, mostly concentrated in Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Georgia.

Elsewhere in the country, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic, the remaining Filene’s Basements and Syms stores are going dark, after having milked the last of the season.

Michael Wiener, president of Excess Space Retail Services in Lake Success, NY, estimates that there will be between 6,000 to 9,000 store closing in 2012 among national and regional retailers, outside of bankruptcies.

This is upwards to 50% more than what would be a normal level of store closings for a typical year, he says.

Is this the season of retail store bankruptcies? Sears, K-Mart, ........ ???

Let the public have two years to consider their folly and have good candidates lined up for Senate seats.

"Layoffs"

All soon to become direct federal employees courtesy of ever increasing tax rates.

That’s a great link, thanks. Everyone that needs to fire employees, I hope they somehow fire the ones who voted for obama. They need to pay.

The U3 numbers are gov’t mush; if they used the U6 numbers, millions more might wake-up to reality. Or not.
