Zawahiri: Benghazi showed U.S. weakness

CAIRO, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Deadly attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, suggest American "awe is lost" in the region, a message from al-Qaida's leader Ayman al-Zawahiri said.

Zawahiri, in an audio message addressed to Somali militant group al-Shabaab, said U.S. influence in the Middle East was waning now that it's military engagements there have ended.

"They were defeated in Iraq and they are withdrawing from Afghanistan and their ambassador in Benghazi was killed and the flags of their embassies were lowered in Cairo and Sanaa (Yemen)," a translation of the message published by the online Long War Journal read.

And don’t forget that Zero took al-Qaeda’s side of things immediately after the attack. It’s really great that we gave this a-hole 4 more years in office.

Interesting that this message didn’t show up until AFTER the voting was over. Might have made a difference. I think that tells us who Al Qaeda preferred in the WH: someone they could mock with impunity.

We didn't recruit viet cong into every agency of the US government. We didn't turn 180 and start knocking over governments and installing viet cong regimes all over Asia.

I will revise .....the enemy doesn’t have to follow you home when the “enemy within” is already actively sabotaging the country at home and abroad.

And LBJ didn’t cancel the space program and declare NASA’s new mission to be Viet Cong outreach.

If you’d wrote a book about what’s going on here 40 years ago, no publisher would’ve given you the time of day. Heck, they’d probably tell you that you’re nuts and take your screed on down the road.

It’s disturbing that I keep finding myself agreeing with Zawahiri. How can one argue with this statement? He’s right. No one is afraid of us anymore. The whole world knows now that if our people are killed, the president will apologize, bow, and offer gifts.

Hey, remember those predictions that Obama was going to pull a “November Surprise” by bombing the crap out of Benghazi? Or at least putting a few rounds in the bad guys? Kind of didn’t happen, did it. Anyone who thought that would happen overestimated Obama’s testosterone level. Or ability to put down the bong.

After reelecting Obama, this country is deserving of every insult, regardless of the source. Zawahiri is right.. we do show weakness.

I know what you mean. His criticisms of O are right on, he exhibits zero leadership and has radically weakened America in ways that would make Jimmy Carter proud.

I'm betting Obama puts everything about the Benghazi incident under "Executive Privilege" by the end of the year.
