When Republicans “compromise” it means... just completely caving!!

This is not what they were sent to DC to do. So mad right now.

Please read the other thread that was posted. Boehner used the word “revenues” but said that tax rates would not go up.

This is article is misleading.

BOEHNER EXPRESSES HIS EAGERNESS TO BEND OVER AND TAKE ANOTHER FROM THE DEMS

One thing is already certain. Anything good that comes from this, Obama will get the credit. And anything bad that comes from this, the Republicans will get the blame. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that will profit.

Let it burn. Obama’s goal is to destroy America, and if we want to save America, we shouldn’t stand in his way. The only hope for America is that in four years we face a disaster that makes 2008 look like a Sunday picnic.

When you lose, you lose. Boehner is in an impossible political situation. No matter what he does, Obama and the media will portray the house Republicans for driving the country over (the new clever catchphrase) the dreaded fiscal cliff. Fact is this economic story can’t possibly end well. Monumental debt, endless entitlements, deficits both state and federal, dollar printing and unfunded liabilities as well as further economic contraction as Obama unleashes his dreaded anti capitalist EPA. Boehner probably should just get out of the way and let the Obama clown parade go over the cliff themselves. There is really almost nothing he can do.

Indeed, let it burn.
The only way to save America, at this point, is to let them destroy it.

The only hope for America is that in four years we face a disaster that makes 2008 look like a Sunday picnic.

In four years, the cause of this disaster will still be with us - 60 million voters who vote solely to keep their food stamps and disability checks flowing. And they will be joined by another 20-30 million voters who will be voting solely to keep their free government health care flowing.

My apologies to Benjamin Franklin. Our Republic has been lost.

The government has been bankrupt for a long time lol!

But to the heart of your question.. what happens when we can no longer borrow?

Well.. we become Greece. And the rest of the world will suffer as the debts we crash other economies defaulting on the debt.

Read the articles where Bohner has said the same thing and the articles following a day later where he 180s like clockwork.

Or do you deny his record on doing that very thing?

Know what? Never mind. I’m sure his feet are already warm and toasty with all these people holding them to the excuse fire.

Already? Normally in a compromise, both sides give a little to get what they want. What is the GOP getting? Exactly. We need to find another party because the GOP isn’t conservative nor do any of them have a backbone.

It doesn’t matter what Boehner does there are not enough people to tax to keep us from going over the cliff. I say the sooner the better. Its going to take a mega disaster to get this country back. The ballot box is not going to work.

i don’t like Boehner but i’ll wait and see what the “deal” is before passing judgement...

The 2012 face of the GOP: gutless, pandering and fearful of being branded right wing.

The GOP needs to be erased and replaced with a party of true conservatives.

I think so too. Lay out clear disagreement and reasons, then announce there is no “deal” or inference to be made that the Rs think this is the way to go. However, they will will not obstruct so that America can clearly know that, whatever the outcome, good or bad, we know who is to credit or blame.Say the President’s people seem sure they know what the fix is and we will let them show us. In other words, do what Bronco has successfully done again and again: VOTE: PRESENT. I believe this would terrify the Left.

I agree that the conclusions of the headline are wrong here. If I was to venture a guess, Boehner is going to propose the Romney plan for lowering taxes and closing loopholes. Now, if he has a pair, he’ll make sure that such a change takes place concurrently with deep cuts.

It’s all about positioning folks. Let the left appear petty. I have confidence that eventually the message that we need adults to run this place will sink in.

I totally agree. Raise taxes, borrow as much money as possible, put everyone on welfare that isn’t on it already and then watch the collapse. Its the only way to possibly get the country back. Otherwise we are Greece.

Agreed. This is NOT the time for accommodation, appeasement, or compromise. The only tool we have left is the House, and we must have the leadership with the spine to stand up for the American people, the Constitution, and the future of this nation.

Boehner ain’t it... And, THAT is depressing.
