For Sequestration
Ace of Spades HQ ^ | November 7, 2012 | DrewM

Posted on 11/07/2012 11:51:35 AM PST by JerseyanExile

Sequestration is a terrible, horrible, no good idea.

And we must let it happen.

You know what you call $1.2 trillion in budget cuts? A good start.

After last night it's clear that as presently constituted there is no electoral path to reducing the size and scope of government. Since we can not do that in an orderly and rationale way, we must use the tool we have at hand.

The lame duck will feature a lot of talk about "grand bargains". No Just no. While the GOP and conservatives were crushed last night, the GOP still retains control of the House so "the people" voted for more gridlock. Then gridlock they shall have. And that means enforcing the current law of the land....sequestration.

I'd much rather a messy, disorganized and painful set of cuts than an clean, orderly and disastrous set of tax and spending increases.

As someone once said, "never let a crisis go to waste bitches". At least I think that's what they said.

Oh and the debt ceiling needs to be raised again.

As a commenter pointed out: Let ALL the Bush tax cuts expire. All the people who were taken off the roles 10 years ago? Back on baby!

These fools don’t realize that yesterday they voted themselves out of a job.

Are they really that stupid?

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I’d have wanted the seq. to be avoided, but today it’s the best idea in the world.

I say let the Bush tax cuts expire too. ALL of them. All the people enjoying no or low taxes now will find out really quick that Bush’s cuts didn’t only benefit the rich.

yep.

Unfortunately, yes they are. When they get their Pink Slips, they'll probably blame Bush.

Go F yourself! I have been in the Defense industry for over 20 years and will most likely lose my job because of the scumbag 50% who re-elected this POS. The fact that you agree with obama on this issue, tells me what low character you have!

There are so many meanings for the word “sequestration” that I am at a loss to understand just how it’s used here. Can someone narrow it down so that we all can understand just what we’re asking the House to do?

I agree. Obama owns everything from here on out, and he can no longer blame Bush. Let the tax cuts expire. Let military spending drop. Give the Afghanis over to their their desire to slaughter each other. Bring the troops home.

You may be correct. I can always find extra hours if I need them. Maybe they need to learn the hard way.

Sir, I am very sorry you lost your job of over 20 years. But there is a difference between the world we would all like to live in, and the world that faces us after yesterday. The year is 2012, not 1984. We are no longer in Ronald Reagan’s America. The sad fact is America can no longer afford to be the international good guy. The world is going to have to go it alone, and that means a slow descent into barbarism for the rest of the world.

We now have only the choice between barbarism abroad and a slim chance of saving the homefront, or fiscal ruin at home and the death of American civilization, resulting later on in barbarism abroad. That is the choice we now face. I am sorry it has come to this.

Yep. This needs to be done. I feel bad about the military cuts but, let’s face it, Obama wouldn’t use the military on our actual enemies anyway. He’s more inclined to set them up on domestic soil for social engineering and lob a few drones into the middle east.

I know this is a stupid question but what is sequestration? I have heard the word lately but I try to watch as little of the cable news idiots as possible and I change the channel immediately as soon as I see Odumbos face.

You are on the internet, i know you are because you wrote that question. It’s called google or yahoo! Also, I can’t watch Obama either but I just hit mute when he comes on and wait for his ugly mug to disappear before I unmute.

Reality check: No one will let us touch entitlements. It is now literally impossible. So the choice is, do we try to do whatever can be done to avert total fiscal collapse (which will inevitably mean no more military spending anyway), or do we take our medicine right now by cutting military spending without totally eliminating the military, and let the rest of the world just go to pot?

Neither of these is a desireable outcome. Welcome to Obama’s Amerika. Reagan’s shining city on a hill can no longer afford its electric bill.
