Romney doing worse than McCain (nationwide) was noted on some other threads, but some have cautioned that many votes still remain to be counted. But Ohio is 100% in, so we can make a very easy and stark comparison.

Was conservative turnout depressed or is the total pool of Republican voters just shrinking? I wonder if someone has the answer. If turnout was the problem, that can be fixed. If it’s a shrinking pool, we have a significant problem to fix.

I think you are correct. There is quite a bit of anti-Mormon stuff here on the religion forum and much of the right is evangelical.

We could have won this one but the media and anti-Romney spammers here(and those like them) depressed conservative voter turnout.This was our last chance to win an election. there is a foreign immigrant invasion going on legal and illegal (i see the cities overrun with foreign immigrants). Only chance we might have in 2016 is to run Rubio/martinez (she's a hispanic conservative woman). Hispanics, blacks, immigrants women went heavily for obama. Still we conservatives had low turnout . if we had turned out in higher numbers we would have won though.

Yes, but where are we now? What is the total number of registered republicans in 2012 What is the percentage of them that voted in 2012? Likewise, what is the total number of registered dems and what percentage voted in 2012. If we met or exceeded them on a percentage basis, then we have too small of a current pool. We would need to bring more into our tent. If our percentage is lower than the dems, but the totals are relatively the same, then we just need to improve GOTV efforts.

The state has rebublican govenor and congress. Makes no sense. Also didn’t OH vote down Obamacare? What also doesn’t make sense is the ralley’s for Romney in OH were reported to be much larger, early voting was said to be up among Republicans, and there were tons of tweets of increased turnout in Republican counties
