California Democrats appear to have picked up a supermajority in both houses of the state Legislature Tuesday night, a surprise outcome that gives the party the ability to unilaterally raise taxes and leaves Republicans essentially irrelevant in Sacramento.

The Donkeys will have a 2/3 majority in both the California Assembly and California State Senate.

They can raise taxes, override vetos, bypass legislative rules, and put constitutional reforms on the ballot now without a single GOP vote. The GOP, which has been dying in this state, is now officially irrelavent in California.

Proposition 13, which limits the amount of property taxes that can be collected, can now be overturned in the California Legislature.

If there are any conservatives left in CA, they really should get out now before their property is plundered by the vote-buyers. Just don’t go to a Red State and try to peddle any Leftist ideas, please.

How many *productive* people will be driven out of the state of Prop 13 is repealed? I’d wager that it would be many.

Well California is now truly the Liberal Utopia. We’ll see how well they do over the next few years.

I have money on they won’t last 6 months without a Federal bailout.

We have been in the middle of a probate court battle for almost 2 years and because of that have not been able to leave. It is almost over, thank goodness, and when we win which we will we will be gone.
We are getting older and sick of fighting. Hubby is looking at SouthWest Missouri and at this point I don’t care where it is as long as it is in the middle of fricken nowhere.
We will watch California crash and burn from our safe little acreage in another state.

It will be interesting to see how quick California self-destructs.

Business has been leaving at the rate of 5 per week, look forward to a triple figure very soon. The wealth (other than Hollyweird) will find a more friendly place to call home. The last taxpayer to leave Please turn out the lights as there will not be anyone here to pay the bill.

We left California last year because we could see the writing on the wall. Last night I kept telling myself “at least we don’t live in California anymore.”

This is the one that bothers me the most. The GOP is utterly dead here.

I give us 20 years before America itself is in the exact same spot.

Of course, I am a bit of an optimist.

All California conservatives need to leave that sinking ship
ASAP and let those rats wallow in that liberal catastrophe of
a state.

Too late. You saw what happened in Colorado.

Glenn Beck was telling folks to leave blue states, ASAP. He suggested Oklahoma - even though he recently moved to Texas ;) I thought that was kinda funny.

We've been here since last December dealing with my MIL's estate...we just finally got the property retitled with the exemption in place... took some doing. We have major life decisions in front of us now.

If it weren’t for the very few conservatives trapped in that state, I would simply laugh at this.

However, the Bible says that charity never rejoices when evil triumphs, so for that reason, too, I will restrain myself.

Nevertheless, whatever my emotions are or are not about this, the taxpayers of California are going to suffer and it won’t really solve the problem. There will be a never ending increase in tax followed by a loss of revenue until there is nothing left to tax. Liberal parasites are just that stupid.

Another reason to not gloat is that this is the future of all of us. The liberal parasites in Washington will suck their host dry too.

They have been blaming the Republicans for years for their inability to handle the deficits.

Well, all the excuses are gone. It’s time to fish or cut bait.
