Reid moves to limit GOP filibusters
The Washington Times ^ | November 7, 2012 | Stephen Dinan

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will try to push through a change to Senate rules that would limit the GOP’s ability to filibuster bills.

Speaking in the wake of Tuesday’s election, which boosted Senate Democrats’ numbers slightly, Mr. Reid said he won’t end filibusters altogether but that the rules need to change so that the minority party cannot use the legislative blocking tool as often.

“I think that the rules have been abused and that we’re going to work to change them,” he told reporters. “Were not going to do away with the filibuster but we’re going to make the Senate a more meaningful place.”

Republicans, who have 47 of the chamber’s 100 seats in this current Congress, have repeatedly used that strong minority to block parts of President Obama’s agenda on everything from added stimulus spending to his judicial picks.

A filibuster takes 60 senators to overcome it.

Leaders of both parties have been reluctant to change the rules because they value it as a tool when they are in the minority.

I figured the arrogance of the Dems would know no bounds if Obama won, and they kept the Senate. Stupidly, the Republicans will not challenge them in the House or the Senate, and Obama will rule by fiat.

The GOP had it's chance when the Tea Party helped them take the house and gave them what it would take to defeat the progressive machine. They didn't listen, they dissed the Tea Party in '10 and played miniliberal against the liberal machine of progressives.

Now they are a party without a dogma!

The liberal suppression of Republicans is now becoming open warfare, thanks to the linguini-spined GOP-E who have refused to climb into the gutter with the Dems and fight them mano-a-mano. This is what we get for not demanding better.

Since the left clearly does not want to work with Republicans, I believe that the Republicans should walk out of the Senate en mass every single day that this war on them continues. At some point, the Senate Dems will want them back; even if it is just to have their doormats back.

Why do we allow these criminals to continue?

WE don't. WE call them out. The MSM and the 47% do.

Harry Reid has yet to pass a budget. Why do we allow these criminals to continue?

Here's a clue free of charge - because we no longer have any power, any authority and the rule of law has been flushed down the crapper.

Rather than engage in a pointless to fight to try to overcome this war on Republicans/conservatives, we should start planning on seceeding from the United States of Liberal Loonyville. That's our only option.

Nothing will come about this because the Democrats know it will come back and haunt them.

Unless they are really sure they have a permanent majority.

Time to take out Harry.

And, just how, exactly, do you plan to do that?

We need a House Speaker who's willing to shut down government, or we got nuthin’.

Boehner - so we "got nuthin'".

Why do we allow these criminals to continue?

Those who refused to vote for Romney/Ryan have allowed the criminals to contine.

Right.

He’s going with the “nuclear option.” I guess he figures there won’t be a Republican majority anytime soon.

Very likely, he’s right.

I have an idea that I think should be considered. We should set up a tent, and a vigil, outside Feinstein and Boxers homes, and protest them 24x7. We should follow them where ever they go, and heckle them, protest them and harass them. We should let people know what kind of criminals they have been, and how they have robbed the American people of this country and it’s wealth. We need to set up a plan, and a duty roster, and a “work schedule” that will have at least 12 people every day, protesting them. Every day of their life, on vacation, out to dinner, shopping, everywhere.

Yep, just one more of his lies that are now too numerous to count.

Of course his way of working together is his way or the hiway.

Here’s the point many are missing ... he’s going to make it neigh unto impossible for the GOP to filibuster judgeships. To heck with legislation, THAT’s the biggie.

They already have their strategy down with the media to gain control of the House in 2014. From then on, with the help of the media, a few token “Republicans” will be allowed to hold seats in Congress and the Senate. They will be there to play as window dressing. They will be the Washington Generals to the democrat Harlem Globetrotters.

Conservatism, as an electable national philosophy, died last night. The media will see to that.

God has turned his back on this country...

ISAIAH 59:1-2
Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you,
nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.
2 It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.
Because of your sins, he has turned away
and will not listen anymore.

Take time to read the rest of the chapter.

Reid will not be unelected in Nevada, period. The Casino's will be sure of that.
The old fool will die like Robert KKK Byrd before his office is vacated.
