Good Morning, BG.

Class warfare and contraception. A winning combination for the Dems

IMHO, this election, the 2008 election and the Clinton years were lost beginning in 1988, when the GOP capitulated to Dem demands for ever increased spending and failed to educate (and continually reeducate) the public on the benefits of low taxes, free markets and the originalist view of the Constitution. As to Obie's success, it didn't help that there was absolutely no attempt to explain the true genesis of the economic/housing collapse that started the last two Bush years and point out that it aligned with the Dems retaking Congress.

Nothing will change until the GOP rights those wrongs and corrects history

Class warfare and positioning Republicans as “Against Women” were certainly factors in the Dems winning the Presidency. I think it is only fair to point out that the housing crises was not a single party issue. The Democrats pushed too hard for people to own homes when any banker could see they could not afford to keep their purchase. Bankers became greedy because investors throughout the world were willing to buy any garbage (toxic loans) that was packaged as a Mortgage Backed Security. Mortgage Brokers and Mortgage Bankers kept writing loans because when anything went wrong, they simply closed their doors and opened a week later as a new company. Federal regulators were counting on “other agencies” to oversee and protect. The housing crises will have detrimental effects on all of us for some time to come.
