Boehner offers congratulations to Obama
Seattle Times ^ | 6 November 2012

WASHINGTON — House Speaker John Boehner says that the decision by voters to keep a Democrat in the White House and Republicans in control of the House means they are looking for political leaders to find common ground.

The more conciliatory wording from Boehner came early Wednesday after Barack Obama secured a second term. The statement, part of a press release, contrasted with earlier statements when he said Republicans offered solutions while their opponents chose inaction.

Boehner said that the elections were a mandate to take "steps together" to boost the economy.

He had earlier said that the GOP's retaining of the House majority meant that there was no mandate to raise taxes. Obama is seeking higher tax rates for the wealthy.

Boehner played golf with Obama exactly once.

Why do people post these golf pictures as though Boehner is Obama's bud? He does NOT hang out with him.

Screw Boehner. This is my one and only post today because the things I want to say would not pass muster on a traditional conseravtive website. A large part of “Americans” are not my co-citizens, and if they are who America is, I’m no longer an American. This outcome and those who support it in any way are despicable. Let them continue to play their reindeer games in DC, jockeying and supplicating for position and power. It means nothing to me, and app half of is country means nothing to me. Starving, killing their own children, their kids illiterate and low IQ? Good. It’s nothing to do with me. My job is to make sure nothing they do can touch me or mine in any way to the best of my ability

Can’t wait to see how far Boehner and the R “leaders” are willing to bend over and take it up the @$$ when they have to “reach across the aisle” to avoid the impending fiscal cliff.

I’ll be SHOCKED if they don’t capitulate to a nice fat tax increase on the rich to pay their fair share (remove the cap on FICA taxes?), and relief for working families (reduce the FICA tax rate or-—OOOOOH, better yet, two birds with one stone!—replace the flat rate with “progressive” rates?!).

Anybody got a raffle on what date The One’s pen will finally sign a budget?

Meanwhile, is there ANY chance the House will stop passing Continuing Resolutions? Those weak-kneed, limp-wristed, spineless “Republicans” HAVE to share the blame for the rising debt. Without those CRs, NO additional debt is incurred. Unless I’m missing something.

In that regard then, he is a happy recipient of big government. Why did people on FR at a time rally behind Boehner like he was a conservative that was going to be a great House Majority Speaker after years of a dimwit Nancy Pelosi?

So Boner finally shows up. Where has he been in the nearly 2 months after Benghazi? Not a peep out of him. We need to get him out of the Speaker’s seat...even if we have to drum up a scandal that forces him to step down. He has to go.

The same reason people on FR rallied behind Romney.

He cried tears of joy knowing he could continue to sit back and eat Cheetos since this administration (along with major help from the congresscritters themselves) sent Congress on permanent vacation.

He'll never go as long as the GOP-e runs the shop. After all, it was "his turn", and whoever replaces him will be just like him.

Pretty sure people on FR rallied around Romney this time was they didn’t want to “one of those people” to vote by not voting since we got STUCK with Romney the same way we got Mccain foisted upon us. I’m sure the primaries are rigged to get the most liberal Republican on the ticket against the Dem. The fix is in.

We need to write every congress person and tell them their job is done. They signed off on sequestration. The extended the Bush tax cuts for ONE year. Now they can sit back and say “We gave you everything you wanted last year. So there’s nothing else for us to do. Everyone’s taxes is going up and spending is dropping like a rock. It’s not where we wanted spending to be cut but we were just trying to be bi-partisan.”

“” A$$HOLE! He’s a major part of the problem we face.”

WINNER”

Just responded to my weekly “Speaker Alert” from Boner. I told him that he, like Obama is a failed “leader,” and that if he had a shred of decency, he would resign as Speaker and work to elect someone who has the ability to effectively lead the House. Out of comity, I left out the word A$$HOLE, but it was implied!
