Boehner offers congratulations to Obama

WASHINGTON — House Speaker John Boehner says that the decision by voters to keep a Democrat in the White House and Republicans in control of the House means they are looking for political leaders to find common ground.

The more conciliatory wording from Boehner came early Wednesday after Barack Obama secured a second term. The statement, part of a press release, contrasted with earlier statements when he said Republicans offered solutions while their opponents chose inaction.

Boehner said that the elections were a mandate to take "steps together" to boost the economy.

He had earlier said that the GOP's retaining of the House majority meant that there was no mandate to raise taxes. Obama is seeking higher tax rates for the wealthy.

Boehner doesn’t get it. None of them get it except maybe Rick Perry.

There is no middle ground between CONTRADICTORY viewpoints on the role and scope of government like we have in this country.

Only state elections matter now.

Boehner has to be careful that he doesn’t upset the Republican mantra of playing defense and not trying to upset the Democrats.

” Boehner said that the elections were a mandate to take “steps together”

Like scwarzenegger did when he was governor of California?

Republicans aren’t elected to “take steps together” with democrats. They are elected to defeat democrat ideas.

So please step down, boehner.

No, you moron, it means the parasites outnumber the producers and the former want the government to keep robbing the latter on their behalf.

Boehner is the latest in a long line of gutless RINO Bob Michel losers - the kind of Republicans that Obama loves.

I wonder if he cries thinking about the destruction of the country with 4 more years of Obama? Probably not. He is a wuss and one that wants to be friends with the enemy because he is tired of getting sand kicked in his face.

IMHO he's just another craven politician who's perfectly happy getting his crumbs.

Having Congressman and Speaker Boehner in the House is evidence that the entire Republican Party is impotent in every way. Either the Republican Party can determine a strong course or it can just go away. Perhaps the Tea Party is the answer, even in the face of the “Republican Establishment,” an outfit that is just as evil and self-serving as the “Democratic Establishment.” I await a party that serves the country and its citizens, and neither the Republicans nor Democrats care!
