This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.
Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...
If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.
But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.
In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension and social security and together with savings watch those younger and smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the 'government hand-outs' and supportive services the 'baby boomer' generation that is about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make up the difference.
They will need to come up with some better ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to present. Good luck but you won't be seeing me at the polls ever again. It's been a ride. Adios, Americanos.
So you all give up, surrender to the foreign invasion and the democrat traitors inside our country? You all have to realize that most real Americans are conservative. Foreign immigrants and blacks make up about 30% of the population together so the media only has to brainwash 25% more of the population to get a solid majority for socialism/democrats/tyranny.
We have to realize this is war, a foreign invasion invited in by traitors(the democrats). Look at how hispanics ,immigrants and blacks voted for Obama (close to 90% rate). It’s us vs them . never surrender.
Good grief. The sun will come out tomorrow. It’s been much worse. You give the people a choice between a democrat and a crypto-democrat, and they’ll choose a democrat. Romney was the godfather of 0bamacare for Pete’s sake. Also it doesn’t help when you don’t fight back and make gaffes like ‘I like being able to fire people’ and ‘47 percent.’ All of that played right into 0bama’s hands.

One other good thing that will come from this nightmare is the fact that Obama and his cronies will ride this anemic economy all the way into the ground and the OmamaPhone crowd may just come out of their collective stupor long enough to see that the EBT cards and mailboxes are empty

Democracy is a bad form of government, but the rest are worse.
Sure, it is easy to give up. That’s what Obama wants and why Obama kicked Winston Churchill’s bust out of the White House.
The last thing he wants are patriots who proclaims “We will never surrender” even in the darkest days of the republic.
We must be like Churchill. We must be willing to fight to the end. There will always be setbacks. But we must never never give up the good fight. Too many brave men have died, too many women have sacrificed their sons.
A communist may occupy the white house but he is not a deity (despite what he thinks). We control the House, some of the courts, and many statehouses. And most importantly a constitution that provides some protection if one can find a decent judge. Hybris has brought down many egotists since ancient Greece, and it will bring down another.

Indeed I could have foretold this outcome as much as 3 years ago. In reality it made little difference who won this election. For even if Mitt has prevailed he would still have come into office a leftist wanting to criminally take money from one group and give to anther rather than protect the rights of all men equally.
The truth is Our Federal Constitutional republic is dead. Technically the Federal Republic has been dead as long as the Federal Constitution has been effectily meaningless in its restrains upon the Federal government.
Practically the resulting democracy ceased to behave as a republic when the majority of the people their in started finding it acceptable to vote themselves money taken by the state from the pockets & liberty of a minority. Which of course from a review of history is the inevitable result of all democracies on their path to self-destruction.
Where we go from here is a simple question of whether or not you wish to stick around Sadam as it burns itself to the ground. It is clearly not within our power to stop this self-destructive process, just as it was not within the powers of the Romans nor just about any other people doomed by a democracy.
But we are not helpless There remains the potability that we could build a new Independent Constitution republic among those of us still lovers of liberty and Constitutionally limited Government. But obviously not with this lot of criminals in the present federation. Frankly and literally we would have to yourself off from theses criminals building a “wall” to keep them from stealing our property & our freedom.
Theses “walls” of course have names, country’s, nations, states. And that is indeed what we have to be talking about now if we wish to retain any part of our freedom at this point. We must find a way to build a new separate country of free men & women.

The country was just given to him anyway. Obama wants a socialist country and America just gave him the thumbs up. Nothing we can do now.
That group would run at least 70% stupid class. MOST of the people who don’t vote, you don’t want to vote.

Democracy is the worse form of Goverment, that is why our founders establish a Constitutional Republic instead.
Of course folk like John Roberts effectly killed that Constitutional republic so what we are left-with is a government that can do anything at the beshst of the majorty of its people. IE: a democracy.

If you wish to continue this fight, you will do so in the striking minority of people who believe in the increasingly untrue virtue that hardwork, ingenuity, and honesty will get you ahead in life. Untrue because Washington does everything it can to punish the successful and reward the lasy at the behest of the lazy & jealous mob. IE: what democracy’s always do as they progressively murder themselves into extinction.

The Federal Constitution is as dead as its effective limits on the Federal Government’s power. Seeing as those limits are effectly dead in the eye of the hand picked Federal employees who have presumed the sole say in enforcement the Federal Constitution is dead. Hence our republic became a democracy, and democracy’s do what they have always done murder themselves in precisely the same way our democracy is now murdering itself.
You want to fight, find a way to cut ourselfs off from the cancerous bit of our population and create a new constitution of civil government among those willing to live by it in freedom. That of course will require some form of secession to keep the northern Mob’s greedy government hands off our hard earned money.
The GOP is not going to win any more national elections and will likely go the way of the Whig Party.
Obamacare is coming and with it, the destruction of the economy-and who will be blamed-The GOP.

I don’t understand. Congress hasn’t passed a budget for 4 years.
