The fate of Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been decided in the face off against Democrat Paul Penzone, and Independent Mike Stauffer.
The controversial sheriff who calls himself the “America’s Toughest Sheriff,” but has been sued by The Department of Justice for alleged racial profiling of Latinos has just won his sixth term – defeating the two retired police officers.
The 80-year-old who is also known for forcing jail inmates to sleep in tents and wear pink underwear, has told the Associated Press prior to Tuesday night’s election, “It might be a little bigger challenge because I have people coming after me – the Justice Department,” he said, adding that he believed the federal probes were politically motivated.

Never let them get rid of your county sheriffs. Feds can only be operating in your county if the sheriff allows it. Very critical states rights/sovereinty issue here.

pandering at it’s finest from the opposition to Joe. This guy that ran against Joe played a little to the Hispanic community by bailing out a perp out of jail, just because he said (most prisoners tell the truth of course, that the marks on his face were from the jail guards. Penzone ofcourse used that hispanic baiting to what he though was his advantage. Bailing out a hispanic man who had been beaten by jailers. Problem was after wannabe sheriff bailed him out strictly because of his skin color, it came out that the perp was a liar. this guy was place for his on protection in a padded cell with no one. he had bruises as he came in. he was resisting arrest from the city that arrested him AND most important, his mamma came to talk to him at the jail to let him know they were going to bail him out and the made up charges of assualt by the guards. momma told kid she had a laywer and they could get big money. poor kid and mamma the jail recorded their conversation and the tape of his time in jail showed nothing. Penzone was race baiting and i’m glad it bit him in his ass.
