I agree. What is the most important objective? Defeat 0bama? Or maintain some kind of political purity? Libertarians made their choice. So no more complaining about 0bama. You got what you voted for.
Um, the whole point of a political party is to have a group who share the same goals. Without that sort of unity, how can it attract anybody whose vote they didn't already own: that is, if they stand for nothing the only people they will attract are those that will fall for anything. -- So in that sense it is impossible to defeat Obama by giving up being a political party.
Did we get what we deserved? Probably.
Most of what evils we are facing are not in the realm of the executive, but rightly belongs in the Legislative (Congress)... they could, if they were not so timid, radically change the country: (a) by limiting cases the Supreme Court has jurisdiction over, (b) by repealing bad law [ACA, NDAA, Patriot Act, the War on Drugs, EPA laws, IRS/tax laws, etc], (c) removing federal judges, (d) abolishing the Federal Reserve and going back to a Silver or Gold standard, (e) eliminating government departments, (f) eliminating government programs, (g) approving cabinet & USSC nominations.
