Many voters still lay blame for bad economy on George W. Bush

Rising prices and chronic unemployment were heavy on the minds of voters Tuesday even as a glimmer of optimism peeked through. Four in 10 said the nation’s battered economy is getting better.

Most everyone agreed there’s still far to go. They were less likely to blame President Barack Obama for the economic troubles, however, than to point the finger at his predecessor, George W. Bush, according to preliminary results of a national exit poll.

Only a fourth thought they were better off financially than four years ago when Obama was elected. Voters were most likely to say their families were doing about the same. A third felt worse off.

This is what I started implementing a few years ago... I've gone underground - deep in the heart of the belly of the beast... I've surrounded myself with liberals - they don't know it yet - I'm even an officer amongst their ranks working to defeat them from within.

Sorry, but I hope her 401k and pension is “nationalized” by her hero.

And she will think it's a good thing. The problem is they'll get my 401k in the process.

I hope America enjoys 4 more years of recession/depression which the media will call a “sluggish recovery” and “the new normal.” After all, they voted for it today.

Sometimes you have to hit bottom before you can turn around. I guess that's our fate... there will be a few generations of increasing misery, then perhaps things will start to turn around... or who knows.

Obama convinced Americans the economy was indeed Bush’s fault and his policies prevented us from further disaster. He was aided by a news media that supports socialistic government. Republicans, gutless as usual, didn’t fight hard for fear of upsetting liberals and chose their usual defensive playbook.

I truly believe that Bush is nothing but a scapegoat, Obama caused the majority of today’s economy, but I am blaming Bush for not fighting back. He just took it and stayed silent while Obama blamed him for everything.

Damnit that is just wrong, and if he isn’t going to fight for what is right and even defend himself then he deserves what he gets at this point.

After the democrats lost in 2004 they started doing any thing they could to screw up America, i think revenge is what you call it, i will not go into the details because what they were doing including treason was all over the news.

The reason the socialist got elected is because the majority of Americans are turning socialist, not that i have conceded yet because i am hoping some of the socialist bastards are more apt to hate Obama more than they love socialism.

At any rate if Obama wins people will get just what they justly deserve as too many of them have been living the life of Reilly too long.

This is the result of letting our Education become propaganda outlets for the left. We are finally reaping what we allowed to be sowed.

We’ve stood by for decades and have done nothing to correct the problem. Instead, we have poured more money into education as the Democrats thinking that we are doing good. What a bunch of assholes we are!

Conservatives need more influence in the news and pop culture. The schools aren’t educating the kids. They are picking up their political views from Hollywood, late night comedians, etc. As far as women, I too am embarrassed for my sex tonight. They put abortion above everything...

You’re short on facts and history. I suggest you educate yourself about what caused the financial meltdown. And it wasn’t GWB.

I agree about Bush. While he cut taxes (good), he spent $ on two wars and senior healthcare issues (bad) and, well, then there’s that housing bubble issue.
Bush was not a true conservative and neither was his father.

He gave the next administration the perfect “out” to use and blame him while they robbed and pillaged America.

Bush and Rove won two elections but they destroyed the Republican Party in the process.

Pete Wilson did the same thing in CA. His Democrat successor won reelection but was quickly recalled. Unfortunately we don't have the 'recall' option and are stuck with Obama until 1/20/17.

Conservatives should learn from Jews and work to get their kind in those positions. Years ago talk host Michael Medved explained, for the Tribe, it's about preservation, a guard against a repeat of Nazi Germany.

Conservatives are needed in education, in mainstream media, in entertainment.

“Conservatives are needed in education, in mainstream media, in entertainment.”

It’s not enough to have talk radio and allegedly a conservative TV network (Fox). They are singled out and targeted for ridicule. Somehow conservatives need to infiltrate the pop culture and get their views inserted into “the message.” As you say, its become a matter of preservation.
