ABOARD ROMNEY'S CAMPAIGN PLANE Mitt Romney said Tuesday he is intellectually and emotionally convinced he will win the White House, and has penned an 1,118-word victory speech he hopes to unveil on election night.
Sharing the confidence that his campaign team has publicly exuded for weeks, despite polls showing he has an uphill climb to clinch key battleground states, the Republican nominee said he turned introspective on his final swing of an 18-month campaign.
"Intellectually I felt that we're going to win this, and I've felt that for some time," Romney said in his first comments to reporters aboard his campaign plane in more than a month.
"I just finished writing a victory speech, it's about 1,118 words, and I'm sure it will change before I finish because I haven't passed it around to my family and friends and advisers to get their reaction."
Locked in a tight race with President Barack Obama, Romney took an 11th-hour trip Tuesday to must-win Ohio, as well as Democrat-leaning Pennsylvania, where he said he was startled to see hundreds of supporters cheering him on near the airport.
"Emotionally, just getting off the plane and seeing those people standing there, we didn't tell them we were coming, we didn't notify them when we'd arrive, just seeing people there, cheering as they were, connected emotionally with me," Romney said.
"I not only think we're going to win intellectually but I feel it as well."

Hope he’s right. 2016 is just to damn long to wait for.
2016? If we don’t get this guy out tonight, there will be no 2016 for anyone not on the left.
Kraut just reported that exit polls in Virginia were 51% for Romney among Government workers. If true, Zero is toast in that state.
Bookmarking in case of epic fail part IV.
God Speed, Mr. Romney.
I am so ****ing nervous I cannot remember at all where I left my skin at.
I also saw an exit poll that shows that 10 percent of Conservatives are voting for Obama..so someone is lying to these pollsters to get their jollies off..would I love to believe that 51 percent of Govt workers in Virginia are voting for Romney, that would be great but take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt
I am having a freakin heart attack over here..I am SO stressed out!! In 2008 I didnt know about this web site so I had no one to turn to when Obama won..I had to suffer on my own, I cried like a baby..at least now I have this forum to come to because I know everyone here is just as nervous as I am
Whatever happens I will never succomb to the left and their communism. F them.
even that D+11 poll said 1% Reps were voting Obama while 5% dems voting Romney
Me either but this is our last chance to save this country..we have had 4 years of a Socialist regime, if people haven’t woken up til now they NEVER will wake up
You will NOT be alone.
I can’t find my tolulene either! HEEEEEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!
You know I think I am going to say some prayers tonight, Sarah, real serious prayers on the cross that I’ve had since my grandfather died when I was 8.
God Bless America, stay strong!
Ditto, starting with their healthcare.
My granddaughter was 15 and they came over that night, she just laid on my bed and cried. She came home from college Friday to vote against him.
If my grandmother were alive today she would have voted for Romney..she probably would have loved him..when she immigrated here from Israel in the late 60s she was automatically registered as a Dem but she ALWAYS voted Republican..today I felt her spirit in the polling booth
Calm down-— the storm is raging but the Master is in the boat.
Use the acetone (nail polish remover), PAM spray, or, in a pinch, gasoline.
I am nervous too......cannot believe this race is even close. But I guess when the media is in the tank for you, I should not be surprised.
Ah God Bless her, Sarah.
I lost my grandma in 2009 to a car accident. She was a Michigan lady, fierce, fierce republican. She did not have kind words to say about this president. I mean she would make me blush on the subject of him from time to time.
She’s voting from Heaven today, and those votes count double!
MMMMM gasoline, now there’s a buzz just waiting to be had!
Was cleaning the lawnmower using a pan of gasoline, went in the house to fetch a drink, came out and caught the dog lapping up the fuel. Shooed him away.
A few minutes later, he starts running around the yard like a nut was loose or something. Did that for about 5 minutes, then just keeled over.
I just heard on the radio an excerpt from the CNN exit poll. 10% of Tea Party members voted for Obama. There is absolutely NO WAY that could ever happen. What is more likely is that a lot of Romney voters walked right by the pollsters when they finished their voting.
By law, the exit pollsters have to identify themselves and and they ask a lot of in depth questions. It is far more likely that a conservative will ignore these people and go to work whereas a libbie would find the opportinity to impart their wisdom irresistable. Add the potential for beling labelled a racist for not voting for obama and lickety split you got yourself a slanted result.
