Astoria, New York HUGE Voter Turnout, Very Long Lines!
OrthodoxNet ^ | 11/5/2012 | OrthodoxNet

Heard from family members in Astoria, NY. They're seeing a HUGE turnout at the polls. Wait times of 45 minutes to 1.5 hrs or more in line.

These are the biggest lines they've EVER seen when voting (over 30 year span)! This is the kind of passion and enthusiasm we've seen from Romney voters, not the Obama "fear and revenge" crew.

It looks like New York may be in play after all. Keep praying America, keep praying!

New York to Romney? Not much chance of that. But it might be closer than expected, assuming Governor Cuomo’s last minute attempt to help the Obama campaign doesn’t achieve the wanted results.

Anyhow, if Romney wins I’ll buy the state a drink!

What if Romney won popular vote in every state in the union, barrack-a-phobia runs rampant nationwide!

I live on the UES of Manhattan and I’m not kidding myself NYC or NYS will go for Romney. However, I was delighted to go the polls this morning and spot three NUNS on line to vote. And these were not plainclothed, lefty Nuns-on-the-Bus type of nuns: these were nuns in full regalia: old-fashioned habits and long robes. They were from the Sisters of Life convent in the East 60s. That order’s mission is to persuade pregnant women in distress from having abortions. So, I know that there were at least four people — those three nuns and moi — on the UES who voted for Romney this morning!

New York has the same chance of being in play as Rosie O’donnell has of being skinny and voting Republican.

I think the key here is... who is actually willing to wait in a line for 2 hours out in the cold to vote? That has got to cut back on certain demographics. Are they Romney voters or Obama voters? I do think that Romney voters probably on average have more persistence this year.

West metro ex-urbs here in MN, very red area. I was the 379th voter at 9:00 a.m. Big, big turnout that early for my small town. Poll workers have never seen anything like it.

No, but there is a senate race. And the popular vote is still nice to have for all those “mandate” talking points.

is Fairfax red or blue?

Used to be solid red, like most all of Virginia, until the nearby Federal govt. got so big, plus so many Maryland libs who fouled the nest in that state started flooding in. And add thousands upon thousands of foreigners, many illegal. Now it's purple at best, with every other house alternating Romney/Ryan and The Kenyan/Plugs yard signs. Fairfax city and county govts. monstrosities now - more bureaucracy crap than the Feds.

My wife and I voted for Wendy Long about 1 1/2 hours ago. It would be a big win. One can only hope.
