Democrat Double Voter Caught in North Carolina
PJ Media ^ | November 6, 2012 | PJ Tattler

An individual by the name of Andrew Gail Holmes voted early in Sampson County, North Carolina, and then appeared at their precinct today to vote again, according to the staff director of the Sampson County Board of Elections, Donna Mashburn.

“We have a gentleman who had early voted,” Mashburn told me this morning, “and went to his precinct to vote. We are aware of it. We will handle the issue at canvassing.”

Canvassing takes place on November 16. At that point, the three-member board meets and will assess the attempted double vote along with other issues that arose during the election. The board will examine the evidence and could rule that charges are warranted. If they so rule, they will turn the case over to the district attorney to file charges. The three members of the board are two Democrats and one Republican, as determined by the previous gubernatorial election. North Carolina Gov. Bev Purdue, a Democrat, was elected in 2008 but is not seeking re-election.

According to state voter registration records, Andrew Gail Holmes has been a registered Democrat since 1982. Holmes is also identified in the records as a black female. Mashburn said that she identified the person’s gender on the basis of the first name — Andrew — and was not an eye witness to the attempted double vote.

Holmes is not the first North Carolina voter to allegedly attempt voter fraud this year. According to the Examiner, Pin Knoll Shores retiree Jim Turner is under investigation for allegedly voting multiple times in multiple places.

“I have voted once in Beaufort, once in Henderson, twice in Emerald Isle and will vote in my precinct in PKS,” he wrote on Facebook. The message was deleted, but not before being spotted by bloggers and conservatives on Twitter.

Sampson County is in east central North Carolina. John McCain won Sampson County in 2008, 54% to 45%, over Barack Obama.

ATTEMPTED = Handcuffed and escorted to jail.

ACTUAL PROVEN DOUBLE VOTING == We'll look into it.

I have my suspect on that woman being a true long time Republican.

And if he's buried in Chicago, he will get two (or more) ballots every election for decades.

In my district, we must sign a line in the voter registration book to vote. What should happen if someone tries to vote twice, is the poll worker should circle the signature, and allow the person to commit the crime. Then after the election and the deletion of those votes, Every name in the book with a circle around it would be rounded up and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

10 yrs hard labor and losing all voting privilege for life sounds about right. Voter fraud would come to a screeching halt.

A minimum 5 year federal prison term should be the reward for any voter fraud.

Sure, why not? I’d settle for life imprisonment myself, but if the citizenry loses faith in elections, civil war would be a very real possibility. It’s that serious.

I completely agree.

I think someone voted using her name. If there is a sign in sheet, her signatures need to be compared.

BUT- NO DEMOCRAT HAS BEEN HANDCUFFED AND PARADED IN FRONT OF THE CAMERAS FOR VOTER FRAUD.

There really needs to be a system in place that will do the following:

1. Assign a numbered ballot to an early voter, and tie the that number to the voter, until after polls close on election day. Once a person with proper ID confirms that they did not vote early, discard the early ballot by number, without looking at it. This way the vote has not been nullified by voter fraud. Currently the person's vote is canceled out, even with a provisional ballot cast.

2. Also, the weekend prior to election day, post a list of voters who voted early or by absentee, so the list can be checked by voters to see if, by chance, someone has cast an illegal ballot in their name, or to make sure their absentee ballot was cast. This list can be check friends and family to see if the dead may have voted from beyond the grave.

3. After the election, post a list of all who voted in the election. This list can be looked at to determine if the dead voted on election day, or to the surprise of some, they voted even though they did not do so.

Why can't we go back to the old process from back in the 50’s and 60’s, where you showed up with your voter registration card, photo ID, and valid signature to vote. If you voted absentee, you had to give a reason (travel, hospitalization etc.)or you couldn't vote absentee.

It seems that early voting should have removed the need for absentee votes for all except those out of state or country, but now we have millions who vote absentee.

The person signs the book, and then proceeds to the voting machine. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, just that you tried to vote more than once.
